Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024
A six-part series chronicling Fleadh Cheoil 2024
Broadcasting on RTÉ One, every Friday from 15 November

The popular Fleadh Cheoil series returns to our screens from Friday 15 November, showcasing the best of Irish Traditional Music from Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024. This year, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is back in the sunny Southeast in the beautiful historic town of Wexford.

Across six episodes we bring viewers on a lively ramble through Wexford town, enjoying the street sessions and getting fully immersed in what Fleadh Cheoil is all about. Joining the Fleadh crew for the second year running is RTÉ star Dáithí Ó Sé, joined by musician and Fleadh stalwart, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh. Dáithí and Muireann meet with a plethora of locally and internationally renowned top-class musicians, including Emma Langford, local heroes John and Pip Murphy, Michael McGoldrick, Billow Wood, Ímar, Bríd Harper & Dermot Byrne, and there's even a rousing performance from John Spillane.

This year's theme is ‘Fleadh for All’ which reflects the event’s inclusive nature with this series capturing the craic, colour and ceol of Ireland’s biggest traditional music festival! According to Garda estimates up to 650,000 people visited Wexford town over the course of the 8-day festival. The pride of the Wexford people and of doting parents is apparent, as children and adults take part in spectacular events such as Scoil Éigse, the Guinness World Record Attempt in Wexford Park and the many other competitions that are an integral part of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.

Visitors and residents alike are joined by colourful characters enjoying spontaneous music sessions amidst the glorious August sunshine reflecting the beauty of Wexford town. Some of the exciting performances to look forward to include Cuas, the McKenna Family, TULUA, Marian Curtin, The Local Wexford Singers, The Blackwater Céilí Band, the McGuinness family, The Cumas Céilí Band and many more.
