Eileen Ivers Day 1 ... July 2024.
Great kick off to the week. Eileen joined by John Lynch ( banjo ) , Mike Butler ( accordion ) and Tim Collins ( concertina ) from the Kilfenora Céilí Band and our own Anne Larkin for a mighty kick off session in The Old Ground Hotel Ennis. Young Rachel steps in to steal the show with a masterclass of Irish dancing. Another lovely group on board ... shaping up to be a great week.

Final day of the tour and off to The Giant's Causeway on the north coast of Antrim. Time to explore the spectacular landscape. Down the road to Bushmills Irish Whiskey for a tour and tasting session. Check in to The Bushmills Inn Hotel and the final group dinner in Ireland.
Once again we would like to thank our hosts Shane , Aodan and Fiachra for another unforgettable week ... non stop craic and music .... already looking forward to the next one.

Breakfast in the castle and off for a hike along the spectacular Mullaghmore Head .... and even time for some hurling. Quick stop for the 99s. Back to Markree Castle for afternoon tea. Joined by our good friend Siobhan Butler for a "Sean Nos' dance class ... brilliant. Group dinner followed by the awards ceremony. A mighty session with Shane , Aodan and Fiachra to close out the night. .. And a happy birthday to Debbie.

Off to Galway City ... time for shopping and exploring the City of The Tribes. Up the road to Mayo and stop off at Knock Shrine. In to the magical Markree Castle ... our home for 2 nights. Tour of the castle and grounds ... and group dinner. Cracking concert in the Chapel at Markree where the lads are joined by the brilliant Catherine Fagan ( flute and vocals ) and Pádraig Collins ( harp ). .... and still time to belt out the American and Irish national anthems in the bar

Sun is out as we head down to Doolin to catch the Doolin Ferry to the Aran Islands. In to the Inis Oirr Hotel where we are met by our guide for the day , Micheal O hAlmhain. Following a great tour of the island ( and even a few brave souls in the group swimming in the Atlantic ) we return to the hotel for a mighty outdoor session. Still time to stop off at Gus O'Connor's Pub befre we return for a group dinner at The Falls Hotel Ennistimon.

Cracking day on the Cliffs of Moher Experience ... time for a hike and enjoy the views across to The Aran Islands. Down the road to Doolin. Joined by Christy Barry and James Davitt for an afternoon of tunes, stories and great craic. Dinner in McDermott's Pub, Doolin, Ireland and back to Ennistymon.

Down the road to Eugenes ... joined for a mighty afternoon session by the brilliant Mary Coogan and Bruce Foley. Back to The Falls Hotel for group dinner and awards ceremony ( and happy birthday Anne, John and Martin ). Joined for our third session of the day by our good friend Dave Hanrahan ... great finish to the day.

Time to explore the gardens and then group dinner. Round off the day with a wonderful concert by Maureen, Teresa and Karen in the chapel at Markree ... what a setting.

"Just a perfect Day"
Blazing sunshine as we head to Achill Island ... quick stop for the Taytos and Cadburys. Spectacular scenery as we work our way along the Atlantic Drive .... stopping off at Grainne Mhaol Tower and various locations for The Banshees Of Inisherin. Into Lynotts Pub Achill for sandwiches, Guinness , hot whiskey ... and a belting afternoon session with the WAMT choir. Back to Westport and time to chill before we hit Matt Molloy's pub where we are joined for a rousing session by the mighty Peter Molloy ( flute ), Sean Regan ( fiddle ) and Declan Askin ( guitar and vocals ). Still time for Maureen, Karen and Teresa to lead the group through another session to close off the night.

Sun is out and we're off to Connemara. Quick pit stop for '99s' and then we head to the spectacular Inagh Valley. Into Kylemore Abbey and time to explore the Abbey, Walled Gardens and Gothic Church. Radio on for the hurling ... "Up the Banner" and "Up the Rebels" ... everyone happy. On to Westport and check in to Castlecourt Hotel. Lovely group dinner followed by a mighty open session with The WAMT orchestra. Great day!!!

A bit of craic with the awards and then a final blast of music. Huge thanks to our host Mairead for a brilliant week of tunes and craic ... and for showcasing Donegal at it's very best. Donegal never disappoints. Sun is out and clear views of Mount Errigal for the short drive to the beautiful Glenveagh National Park. Quick photo stop at Lough Altan. Hike along the lake and explore the Castle and gardens. On to the Croithli Distillery ... great tour with Paul ... poitin and whiskey tasting session👍 ... and then joined by Caithlin Nic Gabhann, Ciaran Mac Feidhleimidh, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh and Cathal Ó Curráin for an afternoon session. (Thanks to all the team at Crolly ). Group dinner in An Chuirt Hotel and a great history and mythology overview of the region with Brian Lacy.
All rounded off with a truly unforgettable session in Teach Hiudai Beag. Huge thanks to Hiudai and all the local musicians who turned out in force to join Mairead... ( too many to name ... at least 30 in the session at last count ). Brilliant day.
