NEW DATE FOR GRASS TRACK 3RD ROUND - The previously postponed Grass Track Championship 3rd Round, originally scheduled for 23rd June, has now been fixed for Sunday 11th September. As always, we shall firm up all details of venue, times etc nearer the date.

“Yes they did it again – Araglin, the race people wait for all year”. This is comment shared by many last Sunday!

With a track in pristine condition and competitors from near and far, we were able to run off 36 full races after practice.

Thanks to Araglin carnival for their venue, Pa Brown for his help on setting up the track.

Thanks also to John Dowling for the setting out the race order, and again, overcoming the problem of having to divide classes because of the big entry,

Thanks to sign on / start gate crew, Padraic Dennehy on lap scoring, Eddie O’Donoghue on race commentary, Flag marshals and ambulance crew to all a job well done.

The biggest thanks of course must go to all the competitors who appeared in great numbers and made it a great days racing.

Once one o’clock appeared the first of 12 practice races were on the way and straight into racing once that was complete. Just as the dust began to appear the clouds delivered a pleasant sprinkling of water for 10 minutes and back to sunshine again for the rest of the day. Once racing was finished there was still time to run one last fun run.

Results for the day will be up shortly with current champion ship standings about a week later.

Our next event will be a motocross on the 14th August, all details closer to race day.

Famed for its eclectic nature, the festival is a fun-filled family event with plenty of attractions, catering for all ages and tastes with motorsport being an important part of the entertainment.

Motocross Ireland again is delighted to be part of this great carnival and look forward to what has always proven to be an enjoyable event.
