Rathmullan History and Heritage Group, in partnership with Donegal Heritage Trails, invites you to a special event, Rome to Rathmullan: Memorialising the Last Great Chieftains of Gaelic Ireland.

Join us as we welcome the artistic memorials of the exiled O'Neill and O'Donnell chieftains, featuring unique tracings from the grave slabs of the 1607 Irish exiles in the Church of San Pietro in Montorio, Rome, by Irish artist Anne McCloy.

The event takes place on Saturday, 14th September, from 3:30-5:30pm at the St. Vincent De Paul Centre. The memorials will be brought from Portnamurry, via Rathmullan Abbey, arriving at the SVP Centre in a procession. The afternoon will feature a historical re-enactment by Dark Daughter Productions, readings, and music followed by refreshments.

All are welcome to attend this celebration of history and heritage, supported by Rathmullan The Way Forward and Connecting Communities: Coasts Hills and Glens.
