The Holiday Pub Dating back to the 1800's, and extended over the years to include a lounge, dance floor and house, The Tavern Pub was open to the public as a pub until 2010.

The Holiday Pub Bar & Lounge is much like many other country pubs in Ireland, with one exception - You can now stay here on a self catering basis and have the whole place to yourself as a Holiday Home! The Tavern Bar & Lounge in Ballinderry, Tipperary is much like many other country pubs in Ireland, with one exception - You can now stay here and have the whole place to yourself as a Holiday Home!

When we bought the pub it was exactly as they left it on closing night - it still has the bar, taps, seating and even a stage. Now you can experience living in the Pub! Settle in the snug into one of the comfy leather sofa's and chairs and the smell of peat from the stove will bring back all the charm of how a Pub used to be. Move into the main lounge and bar area and get yourself a drink - you can argue over who will be the barman/barwoman for the night! The lounge has a huge fireplace and seating for everyone. During the day the dance floor is an ideal spot for table tennis, but after a few drinks in the evening see if you can't resist taking to the stage for a spot of karaoke, Crank up the music and take to the dance floor. When you retire for the evening the house has five bedrooms with King size beds, and a bunk room that will sleep 4. There's a living room in the house, while meals prepared in the Catering Kitchen are enjoyed in the lounge (The pub used to serve food and everything you need to prepare meals for 14 is in the kitchen). On the sunny days (yes, we do get them) you can enjoy the large garden or private beer garden, with barbeque and seating. We are dog friendly, and welcome up to two well trained dogs. Please note that animals are absolutely not permitted in the bedrooms.

We’re Nearly There!

After a very busy few months, we’re just about ready to welcome you all through our doors.

Please note we have a private family function on Saturday evening, booked months ago when we thought we would open in June. This is a private event being organised by the family themselves. We will then re-stock and get ready to open the bar on the evening of Tuesday 16th July at 5pm. Reservations for the Restaurant can be made by calling us on 067-51030. Our on-line booking system will be in place shortly.

Moving forward, we will offer the following dining options from Wednesday 17th July.

Monday – Friday

10am – 12 noon Breakfast Menu

12 noon – 4pm Lunch & Light Bites in the Bar

5pm – 8.30pm Dinner Menu in the Restaurant

Saturday:

10am-2pm Breakfast & Brunch Menu

2pm – 4pm Lunch & Light Bites in the Bar

5pm - 8.30pm Dinner Menu in the Restaurant

Sunday:

10am – 12 noon Breakfast Menu

12.30pm – 4pm Sunday Lunch Menu in the Restaurant

5pm – 8pm Dinner Menu in the Restaurant

Our 322 service links to other stops along the way include Lorrha, Carrigahorig, Terryglass, Coolbawn, Puckaun, Dromineer, Ballycommon, Nenagh. This route has 5 services daily Monday-Saturday & 3 on Sundays.

We are so grateful to everyone who supported us throughout

As a small charity, we relied heavily on the kindness of local hotels, B&B’s and private accommodation along The Shannon, over the 7 days of The Rising. We could not be more grateful to all the fantastic accommodation and teams that looked after the kayakers and the A Lust For Life team so well.
