Thursday we were in Corsica and that was not on the original itinerary but a welcome surprise!

🌩️ On day 3 we would have had a day in Tuscany. But due to the storm in the region we were unable to dock and that meant an extra day at sea. Very unfortunate of course, but safety comes first and there is so much to do on board that you will never be bored.

⚓️ During this day we received a message from the captain. That Virgin Voyages arranged that on Thursday, the planned full sea day (Between Rome & Ibiza), we would spend a day in Ajaccio.

👏🏻 Trust me when I say that this is really amazing in terms of service. A cruise ship cannot simply dock in another port at the last minute. Travel schedules are planned 2 years in advance with all the administration that comes with it.
🛟 A port can’t suddenly accommodate a large cruise ship. There just has to be space, it involves extra costs, the local authorities have to give permission, it has to be just right in terms of location so as not to hinder the rest of the itinerary.

☀️ Absolutely wonderful and I’ve never been to Corsica before so it was great and we had beautiful weather. In the morning I first did a bungee workout & yoga 🧘

❤️ We ended the evening in my favorite restaurant on board and then on to the famous Scarlett night party. Where the dress code is R E D! Ehich was so much fun.

Really starting to love cruising I have to say 😊

🇮🇹 A wonderful day in Italy, which was our second stop last week! Relaxed at the pool on board in the sun, enjoyed spa and good food.

🤩 Civitavecchia is the port for Rome but because I have already been to Rome I wanted to discover the local coastal town of Civitavecchia. And it's surprisingly nice. Authentic old streets to stroll through.
🧀 A local market where I bought 1 kg of parmesan cheese 😂, olive oil and Italian herbs.

🥫In the evening we had a delicious meal and a fun pop quiz! 🎙️ 🛳️

I'm really starting to love this cruising ❤️
