Dear powerboat fans,
this sunday the 25. int. Powerboat Race starts in Berlin-Grünau (GER) and we’re happpy to announce our livestream on ‚sportdeutschland.tv‘ and on facebook.
The race starts on sunday at 10:00am (CET) in the racingboat classes F4, F5, FR1000 and a special thundercat presentation.

WIll Chambers on his winning ways in Navia (Spain) Well done and safe journey home
Will Chambers and Dick Corley, two stalwarts of Irish Circuit Racing for many a year are off on their travels again. This time the trusty Toyota with its precious
cargo on top is heading to Navia in the North of Spain to compete in a HR850 event. This journey is nothing new to these guys as it is their 4th Year in succession that they have competed at this venue. We wish them well.

· 2018 COPA IBERICA (PORTUGAL)
We are glad to inform you that Portuguese Powerboat Federation has decided to open the “2018 Copa Iberica – Grand Prix of Marco Canaveses” to International riders.
This Aquabike International Ordinary event will be held between the 7th and 8th of July in Albufeira do Tâmega.
Aquabike Circuit classes : Ski Division GP1, GP3 / Runabout GP1, GP2, GP4 / Ski Ladies GP1 / Ski Juniors GP3.3, GP3.2
· V4+ INTERNATIONAL AQUABIKE CUP (HUNGARY)
We are pleased to inform you that an International Ordinary Aquabike race will be held in Levelek, from 8th to 10th August.

· LATVIA, HOST OF MULTIPLE INTERNATIONAL ORDINARY RACES THIS SEASON
We are pleased to announce that 3 International Ordinary Events will be organized in Latvia
Aluksne 14th/15th July : GT15, GT30, F2, FR1000, OSY400
Aizkraukle 11th/12th August : GT15, GT30, F4, F2, OSY400, O125, O250, O350
· P750 WILL ALSO START IN TONSBERG THIS SUMMER (NORWAY)
Initially scheduled for the UIM Formula 2 WC along with 3 International Ordinary races for GT15, GT30, F4 the 2018 Tonsberg Batrace will also host the P750 boats for an I.O event on August 3rd, 4th and 5th.
· F2 BOATS IN ROTHER VALLEY (UK)
We are glad to confirm that the UIM Formula 4 WC and UIM GT30 WC will be run together with a Formula 2 International in Rother Valley on the 1st and 2nd September.
· THE RIVER MARATHON ORESHEK FORTRESS RACE EARLIER (RUSSIA)
Initially planned beginning of August, the River Marathon I.O event for classes PR1, PR2, PR3 and PR4 will be on held between the 20th and the 22nd of July in Saint-Petersburg-Leningrad region.
· HYDRO GP OF BORETTO TO BE RESCHEDULED (ITALY)
Foreseen from the 1st to the 3rd of June, the Hydro GP of Boretto will be postponed to a later date this season due to bad weather conditions.
Further information will follow in due time.
OFFSHORE
· ONE MORE RACE FOR THE UIM OFFSHORE EXPERIMENTAL V2 CLASS (MALTA)
We are pleased to announce that Malta has decided to host another round of the International Ordinary race for Offshore Experimental V2 Class.
The Voomquest V2 Powerboat Grand Prix will held between 8th and 10th June in Sliema Waterfront, Malta.

Speed Record Club members have been at Coniston Water in the English Lake District following the Jaguar Vector Team's trials working towards their bid for a new electric water speed record. Watch out for the full story at a later date.
Calling all circuit racers who are interested in racing overseas this season, Following on from some very successful racing by Irish Teams in the UK and Spain over the last number of years it would be great for 2018 if we see more of the same.
Recent news from both the RYA Powerboat Racing Department and the UIM HQ where events were announced that may interest you.
The RYA Racing Department recently added a new “International Masters Cup” which will be held over 4 events at Stewartby Powerboat and Hydroplane Racing Club in Bedford, UK to run alongside the RYA Circuit Racing National Championship.
This International Masters Cup will be open to the following classes, GT15, GT30, T850, OSY400, 125, 250, 350 & all outboard Hydro F4 & F2, Free entry is just one of the many offers for overseas competitors See attached photos.
For those wishing to go further afield , Escuderia Navia Motor Club In Northern Spain will be hosting a UIM World Cup Event for T850 and a UIM Ordinary International event for HR850. North East Powerboat & Racing Club Members are already making plans to attend, why not give them a call.
New ferry route direct to Spain from Ireland.
Please be aware that Irish competitors have to have international licences and their racing boats have to comply with RYA and UIM Rule requirements.
CIRCUIT
· THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ENDURANCE PNEUMATICS SET TO RETURN TO ST PETERBURG (RUSSIA)
We are pleased to announce that the Endurance Pneumatics PR1, PR2, PR3 and PR4 drivers will be back to St Peterburg, Plaza Neva from 9th to 12th August for the 2018 World Championship.
· CHANGE OF DATE FOR THE WC F500 ROUND OF CREMONA (ITALY)
Originally planned on the 2nd weekend of September, the WC F500 round to be held in Cremona has been postponed one week later and will be held between the 20th and 23rd September.
· GT15, GT30 AND F4 IN TONSBERG (NORWAY)
This year, the Tonsberg Batrace WC F2 will be run together with the GT15, GT30 and F4 classes registered for an International Ordinary event on August 3rd, 4th and 5th.
· THE F4 BOATS WON’T START IN KRIEBSTEIN (GERMANY)
Initially scheduled to run along with the WC F250 and EC FR1000 on September 15th and 16th , the F4 class registered as International ordinary race has been cancelled.
· BRODENBACH INTERNATIONAL ORDINARY EVENT (GERMANY)
The GT15 race initially scheduled in Brodenbach on May 5th and 6th has been cancelled. Only the classes FR1000, F2 and F4 will be run for this event.
· OSY400 INTERNATIONAL ORDINARY RACE IN OUTLON BROAD (UK)
We are glad to confirm that an OSY400 International race will be organised in Oulton Broad on the 5th of July, 2 days prior the European Championship.
· THE CITY OF NAVIA, HOST OF THE T850 WORLD CUP (SPAIN)
Please note that the 2018 T850 World Cup will be held in Navia on 11th and 12th August together with a HR850 International Ordinary Race

Early start for delegates at the final day of the UIM General Assembly. Rule changes were voted on at UIM Council level yesterday and are now available on the UIM Website. Today's business is the voting of new council and commission members as well as deciding on location of next years General Assembly. In addition they will be various reports given by senior members of the UIM as is standard practice.
