Sunset birdsong in Thomastown Kilkenny. Many of our guests stay at Mount juliet nearby. Thomastown is a lively hub of great bars and restaurants which you would never guess when driving through. Also home to great trad session on Saturday nights.

The majestic river Shannon whom so many are named after.

Sionnan is the Goddess of the River Shannon. Legend has it that Sionnan went to Connla's Well – the Well of Wisdom in the Celtic Otherworld (the realm of the dead). As Sionnan lifted the cover off the well, it erupted and the water flowed down the mountain dividing the country in two.

These photos are from castleconnell a little known village just north of Limerick city. It has one of the best river walks I've ever had the pleasure to undertake.

A capture of the Northern lights in Dublin last month. Northern Ireland in particular is a great place to observe them but strong solar flares can be seen even in the south.

This was the first tour of the 2024 season with a really interesting couple who decided to come out of season and stay off grid Wilton Castle in wexford.

The tour went to Johnstown Castle, Tintern Abbey and the Hook Head lighthouse which is only the oldest lighthouse in the world. It's origins are from the 12th century where local monks would keep the fires burning in response to the number of shipwrecks offshore.

From the outside it looks like any lighthouse but for it's scale, it's truly massive, but inside you can see it's Castle like architecture. Wexford and Hook head are one of the best kept secrets in Ireland.

It's not everyday you have a fire chief on tour. In the presence of greatness.

Ashford Castle is one of Ireland's premier hotels.

I was lucky to have an early morning pick up here. It was mystical to say the least.

The National Botanical Gardens in Dublin and Wicklow are well worth a visit. First established in the early 1800s they hold plant species from all over the world.

The Dublin gardens were the first location in Ireland where the infection responsible for the 1845–1847 Great Famine was identified. Throughout the famine, research to stop the infection was undertaken at the gardens.

Camdem Fort Meagher has to be my favourite British military installation around Cork city:) Though originally constructed in the 16th century the current structures are mostly from the 1800s. It controlled the entrance to Cobh and Cork harbour and has a fascinating past. Over 60% of the fort is a labyrinth of underground tunnels.
