Creative art workshop this Summer 2024 at Valetina Island Art Studio.

Title: Introduction to painting with Oil and Cold Wax Medium.
No art experience necessary.
Running June 4th until late August.
Runs twice daily 11-1pm OR 3-5pm
€50 per person
All materials included.

1-4 persons per session max.
While family groups are very welcome please note this is an adult workshop that uses oil paint not suitable for small children.

Elysium is a spacious and comfortable home situated on a rolling hillside that overlooks the bay and Kerry mountains beyond. Although I stayed here alone, I can certainly see how well this property would accommodate a large family, or group of friends.

It is perfectly situated to meet the cruise boats in Portmagee, an easy and beautiful eight minute drive at most. It's also fun to take the car ferry at Knight's Town to Reenard West, the ferry crossing takes about five minutes and the views are wonderful. Sinead's communication and willingness to offer suggestions and help, was absolutely fantastic.

Elysium is a lovely spacious house in a beautiful setting. There are fabulous views across the water towards Portmagee and the Di**le peninsula. Bray Head and Geokaun, with more fantastic views, are both just a couple of kilometres away. From the moment we arrived to a bottle of wine for the adults and games for the children sitting on the table, we felt at home. Our two-and-a-half-year-old and her eight-year-old cousin loved the huge back garden. Though there were eight of us plus a baby in the house, it never felt crowded. If you're visiting Valentia, Elysium is an idyllic place to stay.

Beautiful words for a beautiful image.

This gorgeous image of Little Skellig caught in the mist by Tiago Pires, perfectly complements my poem, 'Islands in the Mist'.

Distant islands shimmer on horizon,
rising from early mist,
floating pyramids, wrapped in dawn,
suspended in sacred solitude

There, mysterious monastery still stands,
The memory of over a thousand years of history
Held within its walls;
The ancient spiritual legacy
Still invoking prayer and peace

Skellig’s sanctuary,
Agéd stone retaining the vestiges of saints,
Even now imparting a holy touch;
Stillness and sanctity cleaving to the sacred space,
Where heaven’s veil floats transparently
Over the islands in the mist.
