As an art therapist, I use art as a forum for self-expression when verbal communication is difficult. Art therapy helps my clients access feelings that may be challenging to address directly. The process of creating art within an emotionally safe environment is an empowering experience that provides a healthy outlet for otherwise overwhelming emotions. In my sixteen years of clinical experience, w
orking with children, teens and families I have seen first-hand the powerful healing qualities of art making. Prior to making Aliyah, throughout my years working in a New York metropolitan hospital, I helped families cope with a variety of complex challenges. Through the use of art, I prepared children for various medical procedures and supported their expression of feelings. As part of an on-call trauma team, I provided support to family members that had experienced acute trauma and developed art therapy interventions to assist children to better cope with these traumatic experiences. I consider myself blessed to be living in Israel pursuing work that I am passionate about. As no two situations are the same, I am committed to creating a customized treatment approach for each individual client. I utilize a wide array of modalities including various psychodynamic uses of art, play therapy techniques, mindfulness practices and cognitive behavioral techniques. I am a licensed and board-certified art therapist with a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from New York University and I currently maintain a private practice in Ramat Beit Shemesh. I also supervise art therapists who are working towards their ATR or board certification. Feel free to contact me to see how I may be able to assist you.
