As such, Jerusalem is considered to be one of the most important destinations for religious tourism in the world and the Middle East. The tourism industry in East Jerusalem is considered a main source of income for J

erusalemites, and in the high season some 72 professions and jobs benefit directly and indirectly from the inbound tourism to the city. TAJ for tourism & Art is a group of enterprises and institutions working in the tourism industry and they are mainly located in East Jerusalem. The cluster consists of enterprises that are part of the whole tourism value chain, including hotels, handicrafts, jewellery, restaurants, souvenir shops, travel agencies, transportation companies, heritage shops and tour guides. TAJ for tourism & Cluster tends to formalize the relationships between all players in the industry and to establish strong relationships with the public and supporting institutions in order to integrate all efforts to offer the necessary support for developing the sector. A cluster strategy, that has been developed by the cluster members aims to help them raise their competiveness and improve their market access, developing the tourism industry supply chain, acquisition of new technologies, developing product quality, cost reduction, employment of best practices and building a unique touristic location that can compete with international sites abroad, all that through developing and implementing various projects and activities which collectively, benefit the whole cluster.
