A Lebanese salad, eaten also in Julia and Yarka, means "cool" because it cools the body. We think it's cool because it's served and eaten inside a lettuce leaf

We’re known for cooking workshops where guests learn to make traditional Galilean food, but when a guest asks to learn to make the black coffee with cardamom we serve before each workshop we are happy to oblige!

We’re getting ready for another Za’atar making workshop!
During the workshop, participants learn about each of the ingredients used to make the blend of spices we call za’atar.
After learning about the raw materials, each participant is given a kit to make their own za’atar mixture.
DM us to join a workshop.

Now you might be wondering how we ended up here…
And the answer is we’ve been dreaming of this day for a long time.
Last month, we had the joy of hosting a tour led by @adeenasussman and @viasabra for a beautiful day in Israel’s Galilee. The day started with a tour of @karatcaviar, where we learned the methods of caviar making and got to try some for ourself. After tasting the caviar we obviously needed a tour of the center.
After the tour, we headed 15 minutes away to the mysterious Kfar Ghajar- a village that was a military zone and off limits to Israelis without permit for 22 years.
Our trip to Ghajar started with a visit to Muna and Muhammad’s dairy farm where we were greeted by our guide for the day @chef.ali.m . We spent some time with their goats and sheep and learned about their methods before sitting down for a cheese pairing workshop. Each cheese was unique and deliciously paired with amazing dips and sides.
From there, we continued into the village where we were met by a local guide that shared the history of Ghajar with us. The tour included a visit to a local foraging food truck, a home cooked meal by Chef Ali’s mother, and a trip to @ahmad_khateb1’s shop for a tasting of 5 different local desserts.
All in all and absolutely unbelievable day exploring Israel’s off the beaten path gems.
Nivin, a Galileat host, is a Maronite Christian and recently sang the prayer to Jesus in Aramaic for guests during their opening conversation.
Our home hospitality provides the special opportunity to meet and experience different cultures in an informal home setting. Meeting someone in their home and with their family provides a special entry into their life that you wouldn’t be able to experience in any other place.
