Árvores da tolerância🕊️
🌿O dia de ontem ficou marcado por um acontecimento histórico em que 2 oliveiras de Jerusalém foram plantadas no Jardim Botânico de Lisboa, património nacional. O evento foi realizado no âmbito das e da visita oficial do Papa Francisco a Lisboa e contou com a presença do Secretário de Estado do Vaticano, Cardeal Pietro Parolin.
🌿Durante o evento foram plantadas seis árvores, cada uma simbolizando uma religião diferente, significando um ato de unificação e reconciliação entre fés. Duas das árvores são oliveiras, que a Embaixada, juntamente com a Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, trouxe especialmente de Jerusalém (numa operação complexa), e são as únicas árvores plantadas que não são de Portugal.

🌿O evento contou com a presença de personalidades como a Ministra Adjunta e dos Assuntos Parlamentares, Ana Catarina Mendes, o Cardeal Patriarca de Lisboa, Dom Manuel Clemente, os representantes das comunidades judaica, muçulmana, cristã, taoísta, hindu e budista , o Reitor da Universidade de Lisboa, Luís Manuel dos Anjos Ferreira, entre outros.

🕊️ Esta ocasião única e de grande significado terá um impacto duradouro, uma vez que estas árvores - símbolos da paz e da boa vontade - continuarão a crescer e a representar a ligação especial entre todas as fés e entre Israel e Portugal para as gerações vindouras.

The Portuguese government filed with the Assembly of the Republic, with effect from 1 January 2024, the revocation of the norm that allows nationality by naturalization "to the descendants of Portuguese Sephardic Jews, through the demonstration of the tradition of belonging to a Sephardic community of Portuguese origin, based on proven objective requirements of connection to Portugal, namely nicknames, family language, direct or collateral descent", including new Christians.

The proposed law does not affect the assessment of applications for granting Portuguese nationality submitted based on this rule "until December 31, 2023". In other words, time is running out.

So far, nothing has changed. Parliament is the only body that can vote to change the law, and only the President of Portugal can ratify it. Until that happens, Portuguese law remains in effect.

However, the program is likely to close, so it's best not to waste any more time, as such a request requires research time.

Portuguese Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can apply for "cascading funding" from the Collaborative Platform of European Clusters (Euroclusters), which will finance access to tools and services, to stimulate resilience and accelerate the transition to a greener economy and digital.
Through the financing of 42 million euros (M€) of the Single Market Program of the European Union, and promoting its integration in the strategic value chains for the positioning of Europe at a global level.

There are 6 tenders for various industrial areas with open applications:
* DREAM – Financing of market-oriented projects for the integration and implementation of digital technologies in an industrial environment. Submission of proposals until May 25th.
* EPICENTRE – Creation of new intersectoral value chains between SMEs, Clusters, Mid-Caps, Large Companies in the ICT, Fintech, Health and Agri-food areas. Applications open until May 29th.
* SUAVE – Projects in Urban Agriculture. Applications open until May 30.
* SILICON EUROCLUSTER – Tender for microelectronics demonstrator projects that aims to finance 12 consortium projects with 2 or more SMEs, which may receive up to €80,000. Submission of applications until the 31st of May.
* xBUILD-EU - European Partnership focused on cross-sector collaboration and cross-fertilization between the textile, construction and advanced technologies sectors. The contest aims at 3 types of support: A-Innovation; B- Green & Digital and C- Global. Submission of proposals until June 7th.
* METASTARS – Project “METAcluster Support Towards a more resilient AeRospace and defense ecosystem” launches an offer of innovation services for SMEs. Applications open until December 31st.
