Hoy teniendo la oportunidad de guiar a Olim del y mostrarles lo hermoso que es Israel!

Memorial in the Jordan Valley

Este es un monumento que conmemora a los soldados israelíes que murieron en la Guerra de Desgaste, entre Israel y Egipto en los años 1967-1970. Fue una guerra a baja escala entre pequeños grupos de soldados israelíes y palestinos terroristas. 189 soldados israelíes murieron en esta guerra e Igal Tomarkin hizo esto
monumento en sus nombres. El monumento está formado por restos de metales de las armas y equipos utilizados en la guerra.

This is a memorial monument for the Israeli soldiers that died in the Attrition War, between Israel and Egypt in the years 1967-1970. It was a war on a low scale between little groups of Israeli soldiers and terrorist Palestinians. 189 Israeli soldiers died in this war and Igal Tomarkin made this
monument on their names. The monument is made of rests of metals from the arms and pieces of equipment used in the war.

📍Caesarea

Aqui se ve parte de lo que era los baños Romanos, tenían zonas frías y calientes, toallas, baños de v***r, saunas, sala de ejericio y salones de belleza. Este que se muestra en la foto es el Caldarium, la sala caliente, donde un horno desde afuera calentaba los ladrillos del piso y el v***r subía hacia la superficie. Este baño data del siglo 4 en la época Bizantina.

Here you can see part of what it used to be a Typical Roman Bathhouse, they had hot and cold areas, towels, steam baths, saunas, an exercise room and beauty salons. This one shown in the photo is the Caldarium, the hot room, where an oven from outside heated the bricks on the floor and the steam rosed to the surface. This bath dates from the 4th century in Byzantine era.

Herodes el Grande construyó Cesarea y también este puerto que lo hizo artificialmente y fue el más grande que existía en su época.
El nombre original del puerto era Sebastos (el nombre griego de Augusto) y luego llamado Cesarea en honor a Augusto César.

📍Here used to be the Port of Sebastos in Caesarea

Herod the Great built Caesarea and also this port that was made artificially and was the biggest in his time.
The original name of the port was Sebastos (the greek name of Augustus) and then named Caesarea after Augustus Caesar.

📍Necropolis de Beit Shearim. Aquí se puede ver la entrada de la tumba de Rabbi Yehuda Hanassi, el creador de la Mishna (200 EC). Dentro de esta cueva no solo está enterrado Rabbi a Yehuda Hanassi en una forma simple bajo la tierra como el ordenó; sino que también esta enterrada su esposa, sus dos hijos y su mejor estudiante.

📍Necropolis of Beit Shearim. Here you can see the entrance to the tomb of Rabbi Yehuda Hanassi, the creator of the Mishna (200 CE). Inside this cave not only Rabbi Yehuda Hanassi is buried in a simple way underground as he ordered in his will; but also his wife, his two sons and his best student are also buried there.

📍Banyas : un lugar con miles de años de historia, un río , templos dedicados a dioses griegos y romanos.

El lugar se llamaba Panyas (Banyas- pronunciado de manera incorrecta en arabe) Pan es el nombre de un dios griego (Dios de las ovejas y los bosques). Dentro podrás encontrar manantiales, templos paganos, un sendero que te lleva al lado del rio y al final una cascada de agua hermosa!

Banyas : un lugar con miles de años de historia, un río , templos dedicados a dioses griegos y romanos.

Banyas: a place with thousands of years of history, a river, temples dedicated to Greek and Roman gods.

The place was called Panyas (Banyas- incorrectly pronounced in Arabic). Pan is the name of a Greek god (God of the forest and shepherds ). Inside you can find springs, pagan temples, a path that takes you next to the river and at the end a beautiful waterfall.

Puerta de Damasco, es una de las principales puertas de la Ciudad Vieja de Jerusalén. Se enfrenta al norte en dirección a Nablus. Debajo de la puerta actual, se pueden ver los restos de una puerta anterior en forma de arco, que se remonta a la época del emperador romano Adriano, que visitó la región en 130-131 EC. Ven y haz un tour conmigo y te cuento mas acerca de toda la historia y la arqueología que se encontró debajo de esta gran puerta!
Damascus Gate, is one of the main Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. It faces north in direction of Nablus. Beneath the current gate, the remains of an earlier gate can be seen, dating back to the time of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, who visited the region in 130–131 CE. Beit Guvrin - Maresha National Park

Esta cueva artificial, hecha por humanos, es una ventana a la formación geológica de las colinas bajas de Judea / Shfela. Una gruesa capa de rocas blandas de tiza, que se sumergen en la era del Eoceno, hace 55-35 millones de años, cubre el área. En el tiempo de antes, los bloques de piedra caliza extraídos de las cuevas se utilizaban para trabajos de construcción (edificios, etc). Hay miles de cuevas de campanas en este parque, no solo eso, sino que Maresha es un lugar relacionado con la Biblia, también vemos un anfiteatro romano, baños romanos y muchos más. ¡Ven a Israel y te llevaré a lugares donde nunca has estado!

This man-made cave, is a window into the geological formation of the Judea low hills/ Shfela. A thick layer of soft chalk rocks, that submerged in the Eocene era, 55-35 million years ago, covers the area. In the Hellenistic period and during the Byzantine and Early Arab Period, blocks of chalkstone extracted from the caves were used for construction work (buildings, etc.) There is thousands of bell caves in this park, not just that but Maresha is a place related to the bible, we see also a roman Anfitheatre, bath houses and many more! Come to Israel and I will take you to places you have never been!

La Sinagoga de Katzrin en los Altos del Golán data de la época del Talmud, en la era Bizantina. En la segunda foto se ve una Menora (símbolo del judaismo) en una piedra que forma parte de las paredes de la sinagoga.

Katzrin Synagogue in The Golan Heights, dates from the Talmudic period and Byzantine Era. In the second picture you can also see a Menorah (Jewish Symbol) on a stone as part of the wall.

Iglesia de Las Naciones, o Basilica de Getsemani o Basilica de la Agonía. Conmemora el lugar donde Jesus oró en la noche antes de su arresto. La basilica resta sobre dos templos o basilicas anteriores: una de la época Bizantina (Siglo 4)y la otra de la época de las Cruzadas (Siglo 12). Aún podemos apreciar adentro de la iglesia una parte del piso de mosaicos de la iglesia Bizantina del Siglo 4!!!

Church of All Nations or Basilica of Agony or Church of Gethsemane. Commemorating the place where Jesus prayed before his arrest. The church rests on the foundations of two earlier ones: from Byzantine period (4th C) and Crusader (12th C). We still can see part of the byzantine mosaic floor inside!!!

📍Temple Mount/Monte del Templo

El Domo de la Roca, un lugar sagrado en el Islam donde se dice que el Profeta Mahoma ascendió desde allí para recibir las plegarias (Sura 17- Viaje Nocturno). Pero también lugar sagrado para el judaísmo donde estuvieron los dos Sagrados Templos (Beit Hamikdash) y donde Isaac fue sacrificado. Muchas historias en un mismo lugar!

Amazing day with great people. Today we toured from Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, we saw the influence of the European powers in the 19th century and the different periods of history that each building around the square has!! Hope you all enjoyed the tour as much as I did😁!

About yesterday, standing on top of Petra Hotel we can appreciate one of the greatest buildings that King Herod made in the 1st century BCE. We see here, remains from the Phasael tower that he built in honor of his brother. A structure of more than 2000 years old!!!😳😳

Estando arriba del Hotel Petra se puede apreciar una de las construcciones magnificas que hizo El Rey Herodes en el siglo 1 a.c. Se pueden ver los restos de una de las torres que construyo Herodes en honor a su hermano Fasael. Increíble estructura con mas de 2000 años de antigüedad.

Yesterday we were visiting the Old City of Jerusalem, lot of history behind. Here we are standing next to Jaffa Gate- Bab Al Halil in Arabic, one of the most important gates from the 16th Century.
