It was one of those days at ארכאולוג ליום אחד Dig for a day
Nothing worked as we planned originally, but we went we the flow and... Once again this amazing site has proven to us that miracles happen as long as we show up
Yuval krispin from new Jersey found this Phoenician glass grotesque head pendant
Probably from the Persian period!!! A rare and beautiful example of the artistry of the ancients.
Then we stumbled upon some goats that were necessary as we had an amazing spring and the site is overgrown so we need some grazing to be done ASAP and they were happy to help

And as for myself? There is nothing like being back in my element. Standing in front of a group of amazing young people from across the world that came over during this time to Israel to be part and explore their past and our present, talking to them about the importance of deeply understanding our history, with the help of archeology... Heals my heart and gives me hope.

בכל זאת זכיתי להיות השבוע שלוש פעמים בגן לאומי בית גוברין מרשה שפורח כולו בשלל צבעים

פרופסור סוקניק , אביו של מי שהיה הרמטכל בפועל של מלחמת העצמאות גילה בעיצומה של המלחמה שמועה על מגילות מסתוריות ממדבר יהודה. אחת הראשונות שנרכשו על ידיו בכספי המדינה היתה מגילת מלחמת בני האור בבני החושך.
לימים בנו , שסחב על כתפיו את המלחמה הקשה ההיא הפך לארכיאולוג ופרסם בין השאר את המאמר הזה על המגילה ופירושה
במלחמה ההיא שיגאל ידין ניהל ניצחנו
גם בזו ננצח - אנחנו ילדי האור

Though I am truly grateful to know that so many people care so much about me and my family and my community...
I must say that the concern that comes through from so many messages popping up on my phone screen seems almost disconnected from the reality in front of my eyes if I lift them slightly up...
Look up. Life is stronger than anything.
This is Tel Aviv an hour after another missile attack
A day after a man was killed as few minutes of walking distance from my own home while he was at his home the place that should feel safe but apparently isn't always.
I want to share with you the fact that this last wave of hostility somehow caught me off guard... During the first day having a day off from work and too much time to think, I found myself "hiding" from the danger outside... I have never felt as anxious and as endangered as they did that day.
I understood that staying home waiting for the alarm only makes me panic and therefore I should do what comes so natural to me
And get out... To explore the world as long as I take into consideration the situation and the instructions of the decision makers that would do their best to protect the citizens of Israel.
It was the right thing to do.
The world is a beautiful place.
Life is amazing.
Sun is shining.
We have no time to waste hiding from danger that might never come.
I want to remind us all the statistically we are more likely to be killed by a vehicle driving by, most humans never stop crossing roads because of it.
Stopping our life, canceling our routine, hiding unnecessarily in our homes - is letting terrorism win and succeed...
I'm not going to be part of that.
Never again.
May we all find comfort and peace every where - May our children always be safe to live their lives freely exploring the world around them.
In Israel, In Gaza, In Ukraine and in Sudan...today tomorrow and any other day

So...a group of amazing fun loving women came from the south of to explore the big city and wanted a tailor made stylish tour. 💓
Had soooo much fun preparing a for them - they wanted it to be all about fashion and food !!!
Best part was I got to do it with my friends/ colleagues Michal Minsky & A Tale of Tel-Aviv- Michal David Tour Guide

First we went to check out the Renaissance of one of tlv's most nostalgic streets ( for those who were arround in the 90's) shenkin - where we visited 2 pop ups and one amazing houte cuture designer.
Then went to explore nachalt binyamins fabrics , vintage shops and acssesories
After all that work - a market tour of legendary Carmel market was a must....we stoped for some super fresh shake and then we filled up on - humus malabi Yemenite pastries, doner shawarma, kiortosh and some Turkish sweets....

Have 3-4 hours in TLV? Let me know... And we will make it a day to remember - especially for you!
This city has so much to offer, makes my job easy . And fun . And yummy

Today as we went to explore and prep - it was a day of nostalgic memories , new friendships and hot trends. It was bright and full of colour, and it never even 🌧️!
And most of all - it was a productive day; here's the result

From the back door of the fabric shops and producers to high end haute couture
There are still some brick and mortar trendy spots in tlv that are really worth a visit - and me and Michal Minsky are ready to take you all there - and help you find out what tlv style is all about nowdays.
Yes- A new fashion tour is out of the oven.

*After which we are totally going to eat fresh out of the oven yummy stuff until we fill stuffed at the near by Carmel market.

My partner in crime from the days of the tour guide course wasn't in town....
So when his friend came over I was asked to take her and her sister around.
The brief was simple , short and clear. Most importantly it ended with the words : "You'll have a lot of fun with them"
Which is both exciting an a bit scary coming from him.
He was spot on !!!
Joel knows me as well s one can.
Let's say they never turned down a cup of coffee. I had 5. And one tea.
Maybe that's why at the end of the day I still had energy to run and have a quick view of the city in the evening, though we realy walked around the city as much as one can in a day.
What I didn't have is alot of time for is taking pictures. No storage space too... Here's what I manged to catch

Today I was honored to take a special guest. We spoke about the past, and the future, but we mostly enjoyed experiencing the present.
To be honest - it's the only option that makes sense in a city like
It has only 116 years of history, through which it changed time and time again - it is impossible to predict the future here with the rapid pase of changes, and dwelling on the past is pointless in a city that was built in times of need - therefore couldn't afford the privilege and luxury of nostalgia.
And yet - It was a remarkable day.
One that reminded me that we are all part of history, and we have the freedom of choosing our path, leaving our mark, living our life - in a way that would use the lessons of the past - to give chance to a better future. But we must enjoy the present. Otherwise we waste the biggest gift we got - life. And none of us has the right to do so.

I feel proud and privileged and humbled. All at the same time.
And tired... After all - spending a day in a city that never sleeps is a lot to take in ;)
And tomorrow is going to be a great day in the eternal city...
