M***a ennen varsinaisia rakennustöitä alueella oli mahdollista tehdä kaivauksia ja tutustua tuhansia vuosia vanhaan Jerusalemiin, myös 1. ja 2. temppelin aikakauteen juutalaisen korttelin alueella.
