Delicatessen 79/81

This sort of place is a rare find in Tel Aviv- a unique concept taken all the way and executed perfectly. The deli located in the lower floor of the two has everything you could possibly ask for: a charcuterie, a cheese section, a bakery, various hard-to-find international produce, and even a pizza section where you can find toppings, sauces, and pre-prepared bases. If you’re feeling lazy but are in the mood for a home cooked meal, you can even order their freshly made delicacies for pick up or delivery.

In the restaurant you can sit downstairs on the street-facing patio, upstairs indoors, or on the terrace- our favourite. The atmosphere is always lively and busy.

Rothschild Boulevard is one of the most important and iconic streets in Tel Aviv.

Rothschild Boulevard was one of the first streets to be built in the city of Tel Aviv little over 100 years ago. Named originally as Rehov HaAm (the street of the people), it was renamed to reflect the generosity of Baron Edmond James de Rothschild of the French Rothschild banking dynasty.

The street is lined with Bauhaus Buildings, the iconic architecture of Tel Aviv which led to its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many of these have been beautifully restored and now house the offices of financial institutions, creative firms, restaurants, cafes, and luxury residences.

Walking along Rothschild Boulevard is a beautiful experience, stopping along the way to observe the architecture, or for a coffee or meal at one of the many restaurants the street houses. Maybe turn off the boulevard into some of the quieter side streets which also have some beautiful buildings particularly heading west (towards the sea).

Jaffa, in Hebrew Yafo, the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv-Yafo, is an ancient port city in Israel. Jaffa is famous for its association with the biblical stories of Jonah, Solomon and Saint Peter as well as the mythological story of Andromeda and Perseus, and later for its oranges.

Beit Shearim

Beit Shearim is a national park in the Lower Galilee region of northern Israel. Beit Shearim is known for the remains of a Roman city located on a hilltop and the ancient Jewish burial catacombs located within it. Today the Beit Shearim National Park incorporates both the ruins of the city and the burial tombs.

The word Shavuot means “weeks.”

The Torah was given by G‑d to the Jewish people on Mount Sinai on Shavuot more than 3,300 years ago.

On Shavuot it is customary to eat dairy foods. Though no one knows for certain where this tradition came from, many believe it is derived from the biblical assurance that the land of Israel is a land “flowing with milk and honey.”
