As the WAR FOR OUR HOME continues, our hearts break having to announce the names of 15 courageous soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our beloved Israel. These brave souls, dedicated to securing our future, have laid down their lives, and we stand forever indebted to their sacrifice.

Amid this sorrow, we draw strength from our soldiers who are working tirelessly to bring our hostages home safely and secure Israel.

FIDF stands in solidarity with the families and friends grappling with this profound loss. Together, we honor the selflessness displayed by these heroes. Please hold the families and loved ones of our fallen soldiers in your thoughts and prayers.

On November 9-10, 1938, Jew Hatred found its violent expression in the massive riots that exploded throughout Germany and Austria known as “Kristallnacht,” the Night of Broken Glass.
As we pass the 85th anniversary of this pogrom, we are witness to Jews around the world increasingly becoming the target of attacks both verbal and physical.
Many of us feel helpless. Some point fingers of blame. Many claim that it looks “the same” as N**i Germany, unaware of the dangers of such distorted comparisons.
If we do not work together towards a common goal, can we expect that the hatred of Jews or Israel might ever come to an end?

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Staff Sergeant Omer Balva, who tragically lost his life while serving on the border between Israel and Lebanon. He was born and raised in the United States, and in 2019 came to Israel to join the IDF. During a visit to his parents in the United States, he heard about the massacre and the war and without hesitation got on a flight to Israel, determined to protect his homeland. May this hero rest in eternal peace, and his memory be a blessing.

SSF David Yehuda Izhak, was killed by live fire during the operation to thwart terrorist infrastructure in the Jenin Camp yesterday.

He was 23 years old from the Beit El community and served in the Egoz Unit.

The IDF sends its heartfelt condolences to the family and will continue to support them.

47 years ago today, Yonatan "Yoni" Netanyahu, brother of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, made the ultimate sacrifice in the Entebbe Operation by rescuing 105 Jewish and Israeli hostages held in Uganda by PFLP terrorists. Yoni, who was just 30 years old, was the only Israeli casualty.
Today, we honor and remember him as the true hero of the Jewish people that he is.

The ultimate Hostage rescue of all times

47 years ago today, the IDF began the daring 'raid on Entebbe' in which they rescued over 100 and hostages held in Uganda by PFLP terrorists. Yonatan (Yoni) Netanyahu, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's brother and one of the commanders leading the mission, was the only Israeli casualty during the operation.

We remember this act of heroism and sacrifice that saved so many lives. 🇮🇱

Happy Shavuot! 🌾🧀

Shavuot has double significance that is Agricultural (wheat harvest) and spiritual and is basically celebrated for two reasons. The day is considered to be one of the Three Pilgrimage Festivals. The day celebrates the disclosure of the Five Books of the Torah by God to Moses and to the Israelites at biblical Mount Sinai, 49 days (7 weeks) afterward the Exodus from Egypt.

The day also honors the wheat harvesting in the Land of Israel.
It also marks the conclusion of the 49 days of the counting of the Omer.
