Samantha Israel Tours - Private Tour Guide in Israel From a young age, I have been fascinated by the land of Israel, its history, and its people. I made And since I have brought groups to this wonderful State.

I made it my main focus to learn everything there was to learn about this multi- dimensional place. After graduating from UMASS- Amherst in Political Science and Judaic Studies I became a tour guide here in Israel. I have explored the mountains of the Golan Heights, and the valleys of the Negev Desert. I have explored Judaism, Christianity, Islam, spirituality, and non-believers here. I have lead

big group trips and private trips for couples, families, and students. I’ve enjoyed every moment of being a tour guide and leading these groups and private trips. And I don’t want to stop! I want to share with you the wonderful dynamics of the country of Israel through my tours!

Today, Israel commemorates Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day. We commemorate by wearing white shirts, sharing stories of WWII, and for 2 minutes in the morning, the entire nations stands at attention listening to the sounds of a siren. During this time, we remember the 6 million Jews who were killed during the Holocaust.

This year, the day is a bit a harder with 133 hostages held simply because they are Jewish--some of them still, Holocaust survivors. While we remember the horrors of 80 years ago, we will do everything to bring those not here home!

O Jerusalem, where young Arab women speak Arabic on the light rail, while a Haredi man sits behind them praying.

O Jerusalem, of ancient maps and modern arches.

O Jerusalem, with streets roofed with art and walled with paintings and street art all its own.

O Jerusalem, of traffic that makes no sense, well because the roads are covering thousands of years of history.

O Jerusalem, where the market is a meeting of the minds and not just a meeting over coffee or lunch.

A lot has happened since I last posted- all of it unexpected. The atrocities that were perpetuated on October 7th and the war that followed shocked everyone in Israel, and I'm sure people abroad as well.

Israel and her citizens are resilient. We will get through this. Together.

And when we do, I'll be here to guide you through this beautiful, amazing country.

Yom HaZikaron (memorial day) is a solemn day marked with 2 sirens- 1 in the evening and 1 the next morning. In Judaism, and in Israel, holidays start in the evening. This comes from the story of creation when after each creation "there was night and there was day." The siren in the morning lasts 2 minutes. For those 2 minutes everyone stops and remembers and honors. The solemn feeling of the day is in stark contrast to the celebrations that begin tonight with the beginning of Independence Day.

Today is the first day of Hanukkah (meaning we lit the first candle last night). Hanukkah is the festival of lights. We remember the oil that lasted 8 days instead of 1. But we also focus in things that brighten our lives in the modern era. This year I will dedicate each day to a thing, idea, or person that brings light my life. How we miss the days of the calming tide of the Mediterranean Sea!! This is at the Ashkelon National Park in January! It was a beautiful day to explore antiquity bordering modernity and meditating at the Sea's shore.

Happy 8th night of Hanukkah!🕎 Tonight's miracle is each and every one of you! There is a Kabbalistic (Jewish mysticism✡) belief that before the world G-d's essense was held in vessels of light. Until one shattered open into a million little pieces. Each of those little pieces are in each and every one of us, meaning that there is a little bit of G-d in all of us. We all have something to offer this world, something unique, individual, something that no one else can. Our job is to figure out what that is, and how to give it to the world. It's been another incredible week! After running around all week, I went to relax at the beach in Ashdod. What I found was a beautiful sunset, great weather, and a front row seat to a volleyball game (Time-lapse).
