"ഭാരത് ജോഡോ യാത്ര" നയിക്കുന്ന രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധി ആലപ്പുഴയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ മുത്തഛന്റെ പേരിൽ പുന്നമടക്കായലിൽ നടക്കുന്ന നെഹ്രുട്രോഫി വള്ളംകളിയെക്കുറിച്ച് കൂടുതൽ അറിയാൻ താൽപര്യം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. ചുണ്ടൻ വള്ളങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ആലപ്പുഴയുടെ വിഖ്യാതമായ കായൽ ടൂറിസം തുടങ്ങിയ കാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ടൂറിസം മേഖല നേരിടുന്ന വെല്ലുവിളികളും സാധ്യതകളെക്കുറിച്ചും മനസ്സിലാക്കാനുമുള്ള താൽപര്യം അറിയിച്ചു. സംഘാടക സമിതി ടൂറിസം സംരംഭകരുമായ് ചർച്ച നടത്തി. തീരുമാനത്തിലെത്തി. കായൽ യാത്രയും ഒപ്പം കേരളത്തിലെ വിവിധ ടൂറിസം മേഖലകളിലെ സംരംഭകരുമായി നേരിട്ട് ഒരു ചർച്ച നടത്താനും തീരുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നു. യാത്രയുടെ നടത്തിപ്പ് സംഘാടക സമിതി അതിന്റെ പൂർണ്ണ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം എന്നിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു. ഞാൻ ഒന്നു പതറി. ഭാരത ചരിത്രത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള അതിവിശിഷ്ട വ്യക്തി അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് യാതൊരുവിധ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടും അനുഭവപ്പെടാതെ സുരക്ഷിതമായ് ഇതെല്ലാം സാധിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുവാൻ സാധിയ്ക്കുമോ എന്ന് ഒന്ന് ചിന്തിച്ചു പോയ്. എന്നാൽ K S U , യൂത്ത് കോൺഗ്രസ് എന്നീ നിലയിലെ പ്രവർത്തന പരിചയത്തിൽ ആലപ്പുഴ നഗരസഭയിൽ അഞ്ച് വർഷക്കാലം ജനപ്രതിനിധിയാകുകയും ഇപ്പോൾ DCC അംഗമെന്ന നിലയിൽ ഭാരത് ജോഡോ യാത്രയുടെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ചുമതലയുടെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതു കൊണ്ടും ഇൻഡ്യൻ നാഷണൽ കോൺഗ്രസിന് വേണ്ടി ഈ ദൗത്യം ഞാൻ ധൈര്യപൂർവ്വം ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. രാഹുൽജി എന്റെ ബൂത്തിലാണ് വരുന്നത്. എന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വരുന്നതു പോലെ ഞാൻ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്തു. എന്റെ സഹപ്രവർത്തകരുടെ പിൻബലത്തിൽ രാഹുൽജിയുടെ താൽപര്യാർത്ഥം യാത്ര തികച്ചും സന്തോഷ പരമായ് തന്നെ നടത്തി കൊടുക്കുവാൻ എനിയ്ക്ക് സാധിച്ചു. എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു ചരിത്ര നിമിഷത്തിന് അവസരം ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്ന ഇൻഡ്യൻ നാഷണൽ കോൺഗ്രസിനോടും കൂടെ സഹകരിച്ച ടൂറിസം സംഘാടകരോടും , എന്നോടൊപ്പം സഹകരിച്ച എല്ലാവരോടും . നന്മനിറഞ്ഞ മനസോടെ .... ഹൃദയത്തിൽ തൊട്ട് നന്ദി അറിയ്ക്കുന്നു......🙏
