One car, many places We are a group of happy-go-lucky individuals from Bengaluru. Since that trip, we have been to many places together.
We live in the same locality and during one of our vacations in college; we decided to go to Nandi Hills to witness the sunrise. Little did we know that this small trip in a hand me down car would start something wonderful. And once during our trip to Kemmangundi, we decided that we should share our experiences with people and guide likeminded individuals on their adventures. So we decided to buil
d a website/ blog wherein we would document all our trips and share our experiences with people. This would serve as a reference to many nature lovers across the country and will also remind us of all the memorable journeys we have taken as a group. We enjoy the nature in each and every trip we go to and we want to keep it like this. The town of Hampi in Karnataka, is said to be the epitome of architectural marvels. One can enjoy amazing details and views that are soothing to the eye, by travelling around the place.
Hampi is just half an hour away from the city of Hospet, where travellers can find good hotels to stay with great food!

All in one, the town of Hampi boasts of some of the best architectural marvels in the country.

Vijaya Vitthala Temple, in Hampi is one of the most beautiful and intricate spot for any tourist who loves history! The stone chariot and the musical pillars are some of the classics which bring back tourists to this architectural wonder! ππ»
The temple town of Srirangam lies on an islet formed by the twin rivers Cauvery and Coleroon. The Srirangam temple complex is composed of 7 concentric walled sections and 21 towers gopuram. The southern gopuram of the temple, called the Rajagopuram, is 239.5 feet tall and, as of 2016, is the tallest in Asia.
Hogenakkal Falls is a waterfall in South India on the Kaveri River in the Dharmapuri district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Sometimes referred to as the Niagara Falls of India, it is known for the hide boat rides, projecting it as a major tourist attraction in South India.
Ethina Bhuja in Mudigere, is one of the most scenic and fascinating treks one can ever come across in the state of Karnataka! π
It offers a challenging climb up through a simple terrain, that all becomes worthwhile once you gasp at the view! π
One of the hallmarks of a great trek is the view that it offers, after the climb! Kumaraparvatha leaves no stone unturned in making you gasp after the 14 km trail. Standing at a height of 5734 ft, the mighty KP happens to be one of the most challenging treks in Karnataka. Bhattara Mane at the exact centre of one of the trails starting from Kukke Subrahmanya, offers accommodation and food for the trekkers without expecting any form of payment. Real heroes, indeed.
Badami Cave Temples are a complex of Hindu and Jain cave temples located in Badami, which is said to be the capital of the early Chalukyan Dynasty.
Considered to be a classic example of Indian rock-cut architecture, they are known to be one of the earliest known Indian temples in the Deccan region.
The cave temples are 14 miles (23 km) from the UNESCO world heritage site Pattadakal and 22 miles (35 km) from Aihole β another site with over a hundred ancient and early medieval era Hindu, Jain and Buddhist monuments.
One among the few least destroyed structures in Hampi, Elephant Stable is a major tourist attraction. This long building with a row of domed chambers was used to βparkβ the royal elephants.
The whole building looks symmetric with respect to the central hall. The tower of the central hall resembles (though mostly destroyed) more like that of temples.
The summers in Hampi make for clear and bright mornings that bring out the best of such views! π
Biligirirangana Betta or BR Hills is a hill range in the South Eastern part of Karnataka that shares it's borders with Erode, Tamil Nadu. This is a protected reserve under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 and is simply known as BRT Wildlife Sanctuary.
A visit to this place would guarantee a scenic drive through the ghats upto the viewpoint and the temple. Besides the idol of Sri Biligiri Ranganatha, this temple also the houses the idol of the Lord's spouse, Ranganayaki.
Badavi Linga, in Hampi is believed to be the largest monolithic statue of Lord Shiva in Hampi. Legend has that the statue was commissioned by a poor peasant lady, and hence the name Badavi Linga in local language.
The three eyes on the linga were carved to symbolize Lord Shiva, and the interesting thing to note about the architecture is that it has no ceiling. Sunlight floods the Shiva Linga with light during the day time and makes for an interesting scene to watch out for! π
The Venugopala Swamy Temple located at Hosa Kannambadi, near Krishna Raja Sagara, is an example of Hoysala architecture in Karnataka, India.
This temple was built in the 12th century AD. Until recently, the temple was renovated by Khoday Group with free access to the public and offers a breathtaking view of the KRS backwaters! π
Betta Byraveshwara Temple is one of the best places to visit in the Sakleshpur Taluk of Hassan District.
Situated in Mekanagadde which is 35 kilometres from Sakleshpur, this is a temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple sits atop the Pandavar Gudda Hill that is believed to be around 600 years old.
There is a nice motorable road, though steep, leading to the temple. One can also climb up to the temple through steps that have been built.

Kadalekalu Ganesha is one of the largest statues of Lord Ganesha in the entire southern part of India. The shrine that houses this unique monument in stone is situated on the Hemakuta Hill in Hampi.
This giant monolithic statue is carved out of a single boulder, and the belly of Ganesha resembles a Bengal Gram or Kadalekalu. Hence the name, Kadalekalu Ganesha. The place offers a fantastic view of the town, and is a paradise for shutterbugs! π
Located around 13 kms off Mysore City, Chamundi Hills is among the most loved and visited places in the Heritage City. The temple has a background of over 1000 years, but gained a lot of significance when the Maharajas of Mysore, The Wodeyars came to power in 1399 AD.
The most interesting time to be in Mysore is for the Dasara celebration in October. The city and the palace are resplendent with lights and festivities that last for ten days. This is when the town celebrates the slaying of the Mahishasura demon by the goddess Chamundeshwari, a form of Durga.
