Sri. Dharmendra Hans, a farmer of Balangir District of Odisha have planted 750 number of Drumstick plants in 2.5 acres of lands previous year in our guidance.
At present plants are an average 15 to 16 months old.
He is also cultivating organic seasonal vegetables and sweet corn in Intercropping to earn the regular income as well as maintain the main plants.
Dharmendra has participated in our village level meeting and convinced to plant Moringa for long term profit and livelihood sustainability of his entire family besides contribute for minimise the carbon footprint.

Sri. Bhusan Behera, a progressive farmer of Odisha have planted total 1350 fruit plants (650 Mango, 400 Guava, 150 apple ber & 150 Cashew plants) on 5 acre of land under our guidance.
At present he is following Intercropping pattern and cultivating seasonal vegetables also for regular income and fulfillment of his family daily needs as well these plantation will ensure his long term income.
He is following organic package and practices under our guidance for his entire crop and very much assure that he will earn 750 Rs/plant/year i.e. Rs 10,12,500 from his 1350 planted plants in 05 acres after 4 years onwards up to next 25 years.
Besides these all, this plantation also minimises the Carbon footprints.
So, finally farmers like Bhushan Behera Ji is not only ensuring his economic & livelihood sustainability but also ensuring the safe environment for next generation.

He is graduate in Arts, having total 04 acres of land to ensure the Livelihood of his 02 children, wife and parents.
Before May-2023, he used to cultivate paddy in Kharif season in all 04 acres & vegetables only in 50 decimals due to shortage of water and only person able to work in the field.
In this way he hardly earns 1.25 lakhs /year, which was very less to manage the family expenses.
In May end of 2023, we meet and aware him about Agroforestry concept and convinced to start it under our guidance and he agreed to do it in 03 acres of land.
At present, he single handed managing entire "Mixed Fruit Plantation" Intercropping with seasonal vegetables.
So now he is planing to earn long term ensure income from 384 survived fruit plants after next 04 years and regular income from seasonal crops from same patch of land.
As a rough calculation, if fruit trees will give him 40 Kg fruits/plants/year then total fruits -15,360 Kg with wholesale price only 20 Rs/kg then total income will be Rs 3,07,200/year from fruits alone besides of regular income from seasonal vegetables rather than helping to reduces carbon footprints also.
He expressed his gratitude to us for guiding him for profitable farming pattern and economics of Agroforestry.

Agroforestry concept is very much beneficial for the farmers because it's a robust model of short and long term farmer's income and life time livelihood sustainability for their families.
We are promoting the farmers for horticulture incorporated with seasonal vegetables and other crops to diversify the crop pattern and varieties in different GPs of Balangir District of Odisha.
