•Valley Of Flowers Trek Goes Through the dense forest and the trail is beside the Pushpawati river. On the way you will encounter many waterfalls, bridges and small water streams. The Best Time to visit Valley of flowers is from Mid-June to Mid September. It is famous for its natural beauty and the variety of flora it comprises. There are about 520 species of alpine plants and of which 498 are flowering plants.

It is said that Lord Shiva appeared in front of Nar Narayan and granted one wish which was to make this land his home.

That’s how it got its name. Kedar is another name for Lord Shiva. Another legend tells the story of King Kedar (father of Goddess Lakshmi) who ruled over these lands, hence giving it this name. The temple also has a tale to tell. It is where the Pandavas came to ask Lord Shiva for forgiveness after the Mahabharata battle. Lord Shiva avoided them and hid in the form of a bull. When he was discovered, he dove into the ground, leaving his hump back on the surface. This hump is what is worshipped at the temple.

Rudranath is the highly revered temple of Lord Shiva is peacefully adorned in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is the fourth temple to visit in the circuit of Panch kedar Pilgrimage.

The celestial temple is snuggled inside the rhododendron forests and the alpine meadows. The exhilarating trek to Rudranath temple can be either commenced from Sager village, Helang or Urgam Village.

Rudranath temple is the toughest one to reach in comparison with other temples of Panch Kedar. The Himalayan peaks adding to the glory of Rudranath are Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.
