New Ontario-OINP Draw Sent 1,469 Permanent Residency Invites

On January 24, 2024, the new Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draw sent out 1,469 invitations to apply for permanent residency status.

OINP sent 1,344 invites to profiles formed under the Masters Graduate Stream in a general draw with an Expression of Interest score of 50 or above.

In addition, all EOI profiles with a score of 45 or higher will receive 125 invites to apply for the PhD Graduate stream.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) profiles created between January 24, 2023, and January 24, 2024 were eligible for these OINP draws.

New British Columbia Draw Sent 215 Permanent Residency Invites

On January 23, a new British Columbia PNP draw sent out more than 215 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency (PR) in general and targeted draws.

In a general BC PNP draw (including 35 tech occupations), 79 invites have been sent out under both the Express Entry and BC PNP Skills Immigration streams.

The cutoff score remains the same among all the streams in the general draw as compared to the previous similar round of invitations on January 10, 2023.

Furthermore, 66 invites have been sent to profiles that have experience as early childhood educators’ assistants or instructors (NOC 42202).

Moreover, only 34 applicants with experience in 25 construction-related occupations were invited for British Columbia’s new category-based draw.

New Season of Destination Canada Job Forum is Now Open

Registration for the IRCC’s Destination Canada Mobility Forum is now open for the 2024 virtual (online) job fair to be held on March 1 and 2, 2024.

Participation in the Destination Job Forum is free, but it has limited spots and registration is required to participate.

Eligible applicants register by completing an application, providing the NOC code for their line of work, and submitting their resume in Canadian format.

New Ontario-OINP International Student Stream Changes 2024

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has modified the International Student stream for permanent residency to increase eligibility for foreign students who have earned a one-year college graduate certificate.

These new OINP changes to the International Student Stream are now in effect beginning January 1st, 2024. Those who submitted an application prior to this date are unaffected by this change.

Here is the latest official IRCC processing time as of December 28, 2023, as well as a comparison to the previous week’s processing times.

On January 1st, at 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), fresh applications will be accepted for the two Canada caregiver programs: the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot.
