Mahira Foundation, is a multi-faceted cultural organization trying to incorporate our tangible and intangible cultural heritage into people’s lives. We want to bring the history lessons to life and help people to develop a deeper understanding of the civilizations, traditions and cultural practices that have shaped society today. A variety of experiences can bring history alive for the participant

Visits to sites where the things we learn about in history actually happened can serve as a catalyst for sparking learner’s imagination and showing them a world beyond the textbooks. A heritage walk to a historical site can put what one learned in classrooms into context, and many sites offer interactive, hands-on and immersive experiences specifically designed to meet the needs of different groups across the key stages. It can help one understand sites in a deeper architectural, religious and social context.

Mahira Foundation organizes heritage walks in different parts of India with experienced walk leaders with ample knowledge about the sites. Our experience in conducting heritage walks for almost five years has been further enriched by subject experts who are proficient walk leaders for a diverse set of people-from school children to older generations. Our interest in understanding cities has led us to explore them extensively, so much so that today we can guide people and enlighten them with our knowledge acquired through various sources including books, anecdotes heard from locals and personal experiences.

An experiential tour was hosted by Mahira Heritage Walks for the Travel Enthusiast, Ms. Depika Sherchan from Nepal. She explored the various colours of Dilli through its tangible heritage of Red Fort, Śrī Digambar Jain Lāl Mandir, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Central Baptist Church, Jama Masjid and Bazaars like Chandni Chowk, Dariba Bazar, Urdu Bazar, Khas Bazar, Chawri Bazar and lot more. The guest tried authentic food from infamous streets of Old Delhi and loved it. We finally ended the tour at the Jama Masjid, Old Delhi.

The walk began around 7:00 am from the Red Fort and after a fun-filled day in Old Delhi, the tour was concluded at the premises of Jama Masjid at 11:00 am.

An experiential tour was hosted by Mahira Heritage Walks for the Travel Blogger, Mr. Jonathan Cutler accompanied by his brother from the Washington DC, United States of America where they explored the various colours of Delhi city. They visited Red Fort, Śrī Digambar Jain Lāl Mandir, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Central Baptist Church, Jama Masjid and Khari Baoli and Bazaars like Chandni Chowk, Dariba Bazar, Urdu Bazar, Matia Mahal and Chawri Bazar and lot more. The guests tried authentic food of Old city and loved it.

The journey got started at 10:00 am from Red Fort and after the fun-filled day at Delhi, the tour was concluded at the premises of Jama Masjid at 01:00 pm.

An experiential tour was hosted by Mahira Heritage Walks in collaboration with for the Blogger, Writer, Historian, Author, Mr. Ranjit Pawar accompanied by his family from Mumbai, Maharashtra where they explored the various colours of Jodhpur city. They visited Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Sardar Market, Clock Tower and Old City of Jodhpur and lot more. The guests tried authentic food of Blue city and loved it.

The journey got started at 04:00 pm from Mehrangarh and after the fun-filled two days at Jodhpur, the tour was concluded at the premises of old city of Jodhpur at 01:00 pm.

They visited Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, Udaigiri Caves, Bhojeshwar Temple, Sanchi Stupa, Bhopal Old City and lot more. The guest tried authentic food of Bhopal City and loved it. The journey got started at 11:00 am from Bhimbetka and after the fun-filled 3-days at Bhopal, the tour was concluded at the premises of Sanchi Stupa at 5:30 pm.

The journey got started at 09:00 am from Amber Fort and after the fun-filled two days at Jaipur, the tour was concluded at the premises of old city of Jaipur at 01:00 pm.

Thus the walk brought together experiences of the past with the contemporary. We finally ended the tour at the central secretariat metro station.
