Located on the Mandovi River, Dudhsagar Falls is situated inside a 240 sq km protected area, Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park. It is a four-tiered waterfall on the border of the states of Karnataka and Goa.
It is also one of India’s tallest waterfalls with a height of around 1017ft from the ground level and an average width of 30 metres (100 feet).
The first thing you will notice about the waterfall is the pristine white water. It looks like milk falling down a cliff, so no wonder the waterfall has been named Dudhsagar (meaning a sea of milk).
The trek distance is around 20kms to and fro and takes around 6-7 hours to trek The trek passes through a dense forest, muddy trails, climbing over rocks, passing over small streams and walking through the railway track.
