Upcoming Two-wheeler Launches In June 2020
From the highly anticipated Royal Enfield Meteor 350 to the big and burly Triumph Tiger 900, this month is set to be action packed and how!
Several manufacturers across the globe have had to defer their launch plans due to the coronavirus pandemic. But now with lockdown restrictions being eased in the country, this month is set to be action packed with numerous launches over various segments. Here’s a list of bikes that are expected to be launched in June:
Royal Enfield Meteor 350:
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is by far the most anticipated motorcycle in this list and for good reason -- it heralds a new chapter in the brand’s 350cc portfolio. Armed with an all-new powertrain and a new chassis, the Royal Enfield Meteor is sure to get the hearts of touring enthusiasts pulsating with excitement. Here’s when it is going to be launched.
Hero Xtreme 160R:
Hero MotoCorp is finally set to enter into the 160cc streetfighter segment with the smart and sporty-looking Xtreme 160R. The company unveiled the bike at the Hero World 2020 event a few months ago, however, its launch had to be delayed due to the pandemic.
With the government easing restrictions under Unlock 1.0, expect the brand to launch the bike pretty soon. Besides, Hero MotoCorp is also expected to launch the BS6-compliant versions of the XPulse 200, Xtreme 200R, Xtreme 200S, and the XPulse 200T. Here’s everything you need to know about the all-new Xtreme 160R. Check out what its flagship bike, the BS6 XPulse 200 packs.
Yamaha FZ25 BS6:
Yamaha unveiled the redesigned, sportier looking FZ25 BS6 just a day before the Auto Expo 2020 in February. Now that the lockdown has been relaxed a bit, the brand is likely to launch the motorcycle this month. It’s the only bike that’s left under Yamaha India’s small-capacity motorcycle lineup to be updated to BS6. Check out all the details about the bike here.
Triumph Tiger 900:
Triumph is all set to launch the all-new Tiger 900 range in India soon. In fact, the British bikemaker teased the motorcycle back in May. It is expected to replace the Tiger 800 range as the latter is no longer BS6 compliant. Triumph is set to launch three variants of the motorcycle in our market. You can read all about them here.
Triumph Bonneville T100 and T120 Black Edition:
T100 Black edition
Along with the terrain taming Tiger, the iconic British brand is also set to bring us the classic-looking Bonneville T100 and Bonneville T120 Black Editions. These special edition motorcycles feature blacked-out powertrain, exhaust, underpinnings, body panels, and even mirrors. Since the prices of the standard model and the Black edition are the same in the UK, expect Triumph to follow suit in India too. With that in mind, the Black Editions are expected to cost Rs 9.97 lakh for the Bonneville T120 and Rs 8.87 lakh for the smaller-engined Bonneville T100.
Kawasaki Z900:
After launching the BS6-compliant iterations of the Versys 1000, W800 and more recently, the Ninja 1000, the Japanese brand is all set to take things further with the Z900 BS6. Notably, the new-generation version of this bike, complete with electronic rider aids and smartphone connectivity, was launched in February 2020. However, it was BS4 compliant. Expect the brand to launch the BS6-compliant model this month. Apart from a cleaner engine, the bike is expected to remain unchanged both in terms of features as well as mechanicals.
TVS Victor:
The TVS Victor is the Hosur-based brand’s premium 110cc commuter motorcycle. TVS has already updated most of its lineup to BS6 compliance and the Victor is the only remaining motorcycle. The brand has confirmed that it will launch the BS6-compliant version of the Victor soon, so it is only a matter of time. Apart from the BS6-compliant fuel-injected engine, expect TVS to offer Glide Through Technology, which ensures ease of crawling at low speeds. TVS might also equip the bike with an LED headlamp and the design could see a subtle revision too.
TVS Scooty Zest 110:
Among TVS’ scooter lineup, the Scooty Zest 110 is the only one that’s yet to be updated to comply with BS6 emission norms. Expect TVS to launch this scooter around the same time as the Victor. Apart from a cleaner engine, the brand is likely to add new colour schemes to keep the scooter looking fresh amongst its competitors, the Honda Activa 6G and the Hero Pleasure Plus BS6. The only TVS scooter that has been discontinued in India is the Wego. But the good news is, it will continue to be produced for the export market
