Every breath taken is like a carcass from the past life lived ...( As a breath gone by is already dead ) the word Fani refers to himself here
Life is justa another name given to death where one keeps dying breath by breath yet we still call it life

Life of Fani

Fani Badayuni (1879-1941) hailed from a family that had migrated to India from Kabul during the reign of Shah Alam. Fani became a lawyer by profession but his practice was rather unsuccessful. Later in life on invitation of Maharaja Kishen Prasad of Hyderabad, Fani migrated to Hyderabad and worked as a teacher till 1939. Sudden demise of his wife and daughter made him go into a state melancholy which brought out a rather pessimistic style with pain and anguish against his own self made his writing quite unique often on lines of Mir

Fani meet his creator in 1941 in Hyderabad

If someone knows where he is buried plz comment

ADAAB E Paandan

How do you guage if a family is well mannered and systematic one of the first sings was how does the Dewan Kahan look and next how well the Pandan is keept or organised.

A very famous Pandan from the House of Nizam which came for up for auction I'm international markets sometime back.

Hyderabadi homes have been home to some beautiful Paandans of all shapes, sizes and materials from gold , Ivory to modern day plastic.

The piece originates from the 18th century, and would have been created not only as ornamentation, but also to impress and reinforce the power of the Nizam to visiting dignitaries.

The box is covered with bright green enamel and set with diamonds in the kundan technique, resulting in what Christie's describes as "a masterful combination of the highest order". There are plenty of similarly jewelled examples in existence, though one in this shape is a rare find.

By far this is one of the most beautiful masjids in the world and certainly in Deecan region situated in the town of Adoni and built by a African origin warrior Siddi Masood Khan who went on to become wazir in the laster part of Adil Shahi Dynasty

Sidi Masood advanced through the ranks during a turbulent time in a weak Adilshahi's rule. In the Adilshahi court, he presided over the Deccan group's battle with the Pathani faction, which was led by Bahlolkhan. The internal strife continued, but he was still able to defeat his Pathani adversaries. Around 1676, while serving as a regent for the young Sikandar Adilshah, He ascended to the rank of Wazir. An interesting historic event is that Masood joined forces with Qutub Shah and Shivaji to fight the Mughals in 1678.

The Jama Masjid Adoni is arched façade, which is topped by a bulbous dome. The complex's entrance is through a sizable gate with slender minarets. The twenty-five bay prayer hall has shallow domes and alternating vaults. Stone chains adorn the slender flanking minarets. The dome rises on a petalled neck, much less prominent presently. Within the hall, side doors are encircled by panels and ornate pediments.

The gold and pearl 🦪 enamel painting on the ceiling is a spectacular display of Indo sarsanic design fortunately parts of this painting is still intact.

A walk through the Nizam’s Museum with Dr. Haseeb Jafferi

The Nizam's Museum, which is located in Purani Haveli, has a fantastic display of gifts and momentoes given to the Seventh Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur, during the silver jubilee celebration held in 1937, by notables and departments of Hyderabad. The museum has an interesting collection artefacts and bestowments (Nazranas) of sterling silver, gold, and some are set with precious gemstones and have exquisite craftsmanship.

It is home to the world's largest walk in wardrobe, belonging to Mehboob Ali Pasha, the sixth Nizam, which is also on display. The wardrobe is an elegant piece of furniture that bears witness to the Nizams' opulent lifestyle.

A recent theft of the gold and precious stone adorned tiffin box made national headlines and brought the museum into limelight. Fortunately, it was recovered and returned to the museum and reinstated with additional security. It also rings an alarm on how vulnerable and fragile museums in our country are.

Celebrate Museum Week by attending this walk through the Nizam’s Museum! Register through link in our bio.
