In Ladakh, one never knows what surprises nature has in store. The Pangong Lake, located at an altitude of almost 4,350 m, is the highest salt lake in the world. Its apparently blue-tinged waters stand in stark contrast to the arid mountains that surround it. Stretching for almost 160 km, one third of Pangong Lake is in India and the other two thirds in China.
One of the most famous lakes in Leh Ladakh, Pangong Lake takes its name from the Tibetan word "Pangong Tso", which means "lake of the high meadows". You could spend hours in contemplation here, and not get enough of its beauty. Pangong Lake is also known to change colour, turning blue, green and red at different times. If you have decided to take a trip to Ladakh soon, don't forget to visit the Pangong Lake. The beauty that awaits you there cannot be described in words. You have to see it, feel it and absorb it into yourself.
