The amazing Snake boats on the Keralan Backwaters. The picture below shows the trial runs of the forth coming canoe races.
Dozens of competitions in different venues will take place during August and September months of the Year. Around 100 orsemen, about 6-8 Snake boats contesting - excitement in the Air. An Experience indeed.

Mappila bay harbour- a water inlet which once was a port connecting Kannur coast with foreign traders, now is a special and Lively fishing harbour. An attractively crowded place, Fishermen coming back after a days catch, the curious buyers participating in a loud auction, small tea and snacks stalls for the fisherman, small fish vendors, Local people bargaining on the prices and a rookery of gregarious birds flying down to collect their food. Brightly coloured fishing boats and the freshly caught fishes add an alluring view.

Payyambalam beach -is a long stretch of Golden Sand Beach located within the Northern town of kannur. The serene Beach felt so peaceful and is very tidy. Better place to spend time, joyfully and there are Pets enjoying as well, alongwith their masters.The vendors are busy, serving the visitors. The Food Van ideally located near to the beach - Named "The Oopen box" served delicious food presented in attractive standards 🌞

Team coco was out exploring,with no plans and What we found is Paithalmala - a mountainous village - about 60 kms from Kannur, the Northern town of Kerala. Serene and Peaceful. Trekking trails are breathtaking, a dip in the waterbed on top of a hidden waterfalls is a rejuvenating experience and so is the amazing view of the elephant shaped paithalmala. curious coco - crafting memorable travel tales. The leprosy center in Bunny Nagar in Andhrapradesh was also a learning. There are about 70 families in the community. The Pandemic has made the living worse. The provision we could distribute would support each family for about 4-5 days. There are children - surprisingly enthusiastic.

The women skill training centre at Neerukonda in Andhrapradesh is a good Rural Initiative. They learn stitching and also starts working from home later, though many of them needs support in owning a sewing machine. We are grateful to see how small things can deliver happiness, every one was so enjoying the welcome gifts 🌞 it makes us more responsible 🙏

Andhrapradesh learnings: Our friend Jonathan has 5 such centers supporting the village children with education and meals. It's but just a beginning of a journey.
Its also about connecting people in India for a good cause, We have more to follow. Please help us to help our children. Better food, proper class room space with adequate equipments would just be sweet 🙏

Ayur Bethaniya -an Ayurvedic Hospital which emits energy right when You enter. It should be the family charm in Dr. Griger mixed with his warmth, reflecting. The traditional thoughts in a contemporary ambience, authentic and self sufficient. The doctor during the "marma chikitsa" even tells You if You are not doing Your religious rituals !!! ofcourse with other Physical problems we suffer from. Highly Recommended for reconnecting 🙏

It was an exciting experience to rediscover the River Nila and her age old traditions. Based out of Cheruthuruthy in Kerala. Have been lucky to visit the house of the Poothan thira Performer and listen to the stories of this ancient temple ritual from the family. Happy to reconnect with Sopanam school of Panchavadyam - a group of passionate Artists who try hard to sustain the art form by mainly imparting knowledge into the new generation. These days are bad and the artists have turned to making miniatures of music instruments to keep the awareness going. We were happy to support and would greatly appreciate Yours for sustaining 🙏

Further north of Kerala and the discovery continues. Crangannor is an ancient port and Now Muziris - a unesco excavation site. The history and culture is an Amazing story. Our trail meets with kudumbasree - a self help group and Chendamagalam Handloom Co op society. You see the oldest member with the loom 🌞 And then the amusing KIDS - Kottapuram integrated Development Society - support about 1000 families in the vicinity.
Otherwise useless screw pine and water hyacinth mixed with passion and skill is what we see below. Traditions, comfort and lifestyles 🌟

Backwaters of Kerala is one of it's kind. The Pandemic, like many other places, has destroyed the livelyhoods in spite of the support for life from the administration.
Kuttan, out of his Passion and Talent used to make the miniatures of the Snakeboats and the house boats which went on demand for the visitors. The people and traditions are important to be sustained, in these indefinite times. We have bought a few handmade canoes to make an awareness of the Story and promote him better by INDIA&YOU, assisted by cocotours within India and Switzerland. Goes without saying that we should all be together towards the purpose ❤
