ঘরের কাছে মঙ্গলগঞ্জ

সপ্তাহান্তে দুদিনের ছুটিতে ঘুরে আসুন মঙ্গলগঞ্জ। ইছামতী নদী আর তার ওপারেই পারমাদান জঙ্গল। ঘন জঙ্গলের হাতছানি এখানে উপেক্ষা করা যায় না। ঝিঁঝির ডাক আর জোনাকির আলোতে জঙ্গলের মধ্যে দুদিন কাটিয়ে পরের দিন সকালে দেখে নিন কাটা সাহেবের কুঠী। কথিত আছে এক নীলকর সাহেব নাকি এখানে নীল চাষের জন্য কুঠী বানান। তবে সাহেব এতোই অত্যাচারী হয়ে উঠেছিলেন যে গ্রামের মানুষ মধ্য রাতে তাকে গলা কেটে মেরে ফেলে। দিনের বেলা নিজেরাই পায়ে হেঁটে দেখে আসা যায় এই নীল সাহেবের কুঠী। তবে রাত্রি বেলা গেলে গাইড নিয়ে যাওয়াই ভালো। ইচ্ছে হলে ইছামতীর বুকে নৌকা বিহারের ব্যবস্থাও আছে। ঘুরে আসতে পারেন মাঝির সাথে ইছামতীর ওপর দিয়ে। পর দিন সন্ধ্যায় আবার ট্রেন ধরে বাড়ি।

কিভাবে যাবেন:- চাকদা অথবা বনগা স্টেশনে নেমে চলে আসুন নাটাবেড়িয়া। নাটাবেড়িয়া থেকে মিনিট দশেকের পথ মঙ্গলগঞ্জ। টোটো করে চলে আসুন হোমস্টের দরজায়।
