Food adds a unique identity to the character of any place. Calcutta can be called the food capital of India with the variety of flavors that have emerged because of the plethora of influences that she has merged in herself.

With the immigration of Chinese people in Kolkata two centuries ago, they created a delicious fusion cuisine that blended Hakka traditions with the fiery flavors of India.

This is Singara Chow as the locals call it. The Singara (Bengali term for Samosas) are actually wantons or meat dumplings served with authentic chow, garnished with roasted shredded chicken and spring onions. And a FULL bowl of hot soup. Perfect meal to kick starts a day. The very name clearly suggests how well the two cultures & cuisines have merged into eachother.

The food joint is located in Chinatown, Tangra, close to Chinese Kali Mandir. A one of its kind temples, where noodles are offered as Prasad.

Calcutta is indeed the Cultural Capital of India!
