Kugti Wildlife Sanctuary is the second largest sanctuary in Himachal Pradesh spread over an area of 378 sq km. Located at a steep height of 2195 m to 5040 m, this region is home to several medicinal plants and some of the rare floral species. To its west lies the Tundah Sanctuary divided by a forest corridor. It is located 87 km from Chamba, 30 km from Bharmaur and 15 km from Kugti village.

Note : only route to manali is accessible.. but there is a root to tosh ranges connecting to Sara umga valley in tosh through infamous animal pass which in many years has not been crossed.

पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, भस्मासुर नाम का एक राक्षस था उसने कठोर तपस्या से भगवान शिव से वरदान प्राप्त किया था कि वह जिस पर भी अपना हाथ रख देगा वह भस्म हो जाएगा। फिर उसके मन में पाप आ गया और वह माता पार्वती से विवाह करने के बारे सोचने लगा और वह भगवान शिव के ऊपर हाथ रखकर उन्हें नष्ट करना चाहता था। भगवन विष्णु जी ने मोहनी का रूप धारण करके भस्मासुर को अपने साथ नृत्य करने के लिए राजी किया। नृत्य करते हुए भस्मासुर ने खुद के ही सिर पर हाथ रख लिया और वह भस्म हो गया। इस कारण आज भी यहां की मिट्टी और पानी लाल दिखाई देते हैं।

Shrikhand Mahadev is a Hindu pilgrimage site , considered to be an abode of lord shiva. It is considered to be one of the toughest treks in India.The 75 feet shivalingam at the top of the mountain is at a height of 18,570 feet.There are various spots that pilgrims take before reaching Jaon, some of them include (in decreasing order of their distance from the peak), Shimla, Nirmand, Jaon. It is a 32 km (from one side) trek from base village Jaon to the Shrikhand top which is approximately 18,570 ft above the sea level.

The official yatra of 2023 will open from 7th of July

Beautifully vivid turquoise-blue flycatcher. Adult male has dark lores. Juvenile is duller, with noticeably grayer underparts. Sits upright on exposed perches. Found in lowland and hill forests and forest edges.
This bird is also mentioned in many folk songs of himalyan region .

Dehnasar Lake is a high-altitude freshwater lake in Chota Bhangal , in the Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. This is a concurrent place for Kullu, Kangra and Mandi and people gather 20th of Bhadrapada or Bhaado for the holy bath. (mainly during the last week of August or first week of September. According to the myth, the lake is home to the goddess Parvati, who is said to visit the lake in the 20th of Bhadrapada to holy bath to fulfill their wishes, which generally falls in August or September.
