A pair of Black Necked Crane singing on my recent visit to Tsokar. I was accompanied by a great team of birds and bird photography enthusiasts.
Tsokar lake being one of the hot spots for birding in Ladakh is on the verge of completely drying up due to no source of water. A local person told us that small mammals like marmot are regularly seen around the lake, but sadly not anymore and no doubt it could be more in the future.

So I am keeping this open for suggestions/ discussion, how could we implement the solution we already know?

Apricot Blossom in Ladakh.

The arrival of the spring season began with apricot blossoms in the whole of Ladakh and it entirely changes the region into a lively and vibrant feel.

I had an insightful time with Mr Sajid to explore the rich culture and witnessing the apricot blossom in the beautiful A***n valley in the west of Ladakh. The inhabitants of A***n valley are also known as Brogpas and are the descendants of the Dards, Indo-A***n, who came down to the Indus centuries ago. They have a unique culture and tradition unlike the rest of Ladakh.

This season we have a special package for A***n valley and Turtuk valley.

The story behind the “Rumtse Retreat and Restaurant”

The beautiful Rumtse Retreat and Restaurant was built using the traditional Ladakhi eco-friendly method, known as Rammed Earth which is about using the earth beneath your feet. This method was chosen considering the fragile terrain of Ladakh and to revive the traditional architecture.

Also, the architects and coworkers were my dearest friends from college, SECMOL cm Ice Stupa teammates and dear friend
Nawang Phuntsog who voluntarily joined and persuaded the successful completion of the resort.

Much appreciated for all the efforts and hard work. Thank you all❤️
