The government has asked officials to check all illegal camping and remove illegal tents permanently from such places. A special team has been formed to make sure the task is complete. There will also be check points at various locations, especially at the entrance to popular trekking routes.

ATOA Kullu Manali highly appreciates and welcomes the move taken by and to ban and check the fixed camping in the high altitude trekking routes of Kullu valley. This move will prove instrumental in protecting the fragile alpine ecology and will further ensure sustainability and safety.

Planning to a trip to Himachal? You may need a covid -19 negative report from 16th April.
There are no restrictions on the arrival of tourists in Himachal Pradesh
The government has allowed tourists to visit the state as of now, but has also directed hotel owners and tourists to strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SoPs) issued by the government.
Just a day after iterating that there are no restrictions on the arrival of tourists in the state, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Sunday reviewed the COVID-19 situation and issued a new advisory for tourists coming in from certain states.

People coming from Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh need to carry an RT-PCR negative report, not more than 72 hours old, to enter the mountain state.
Importantly the new guidelines will come into effect from 16th April 2021.

Adventure Tour Operators Association of Manali (Kullu)aims to create a platform to be able to self regulate ourselves and our outdoor industry in a way that we are able to comply to Govt of India Norms, laws and prescribed guidelines. We wish to achieve this by focusing our efforts on improving our businesses through educating ourselves on best practises prevalent in our industry both in India and the World. Introduce quality training programs that help us and all our guides and staff to enhance our skills within our industry. Create liason with National and international bodies that have interests in Outdoor Adventure and Environment Conservation. Setting up a good rescue service network, backbone within our community and state so that we are able to offer help when ever need arises.
As an association we have to be pro-active in setting the rules and regulations for ourselves in accordance with Government of India Adventure tourism guidelines, so that everybody including the administration and government agencies also recognise us and view us as a proactive body. This will in future help us to avoid the interference from any government or semi govt agencies and by embracing this we will also ensure that we have control over our environment and our land unlike what we have seen happen in the past to other associations in our eco system.
We are all part of a growing industry and we, as operators are all fragmented currently. It is about time that all of us join and stand together by forming a strong association so that we have a strong voice that can represent all of us in various forums.
Thank You
Gen Sec
