Lambhri Trek is a moderate trek with a unique significance. It is not in the GHNP but there is no better view of the Park than the view from Lambhri.

Lambhri stands like a guard of the higher Himalayas. From the top you can see the whole Himalayan range from the Dhauladhar range to Kinnaur. Stunning!

It is not a protected area but the biodiversity of Lambri is exceptional. It even shelters the Western Tragopan. Lambri is inhabited. There are a few villages on its sides but the villagers consider their mountain like a temple. It is the abode of the most powerful and merciful deities. On Lambhri Trek, you are actually not a trekker but a pilgrim!

If you start from Jalori pass you save yourself the tiresome climb to the Lambri top (3600 m) from a low altitude.

The statue has five faces which depict about the different character of Lord Shiv- Aghora, Ishana, Tat Purusha, Vaamdeva and Rudra. Angora is the destructive nature, Ishana is omnipresent and omnipotent, Tat Purusha is his ego, Vaamdeva is the female facet and Rudra is his creative and destructive aspect. Panchvaktra is defined as the union of all these.

Sojha is a timeless village with colourful wooden houses set among apple orchards and an endless view of the valley. नंदी हर शिव मंदिर के बाहर विराजमान दिखते हैं लेकिन क्या आपने कभी सोचा है कि नंदी प्रतीक्षा के प्रतीक हैं। वह साधना में लीन हैं और इंतजार की मुद्रा में हैं। नंदी को हम सभी भगवान शिव के वाहन और कैलाश के द्वारपाल के रूप में जानते हैं विशेष रूप से भगवान शिव के वाहन और उनके निवास स्थान कैलाश के द्वारपाल के रूप में जाने जाते हैं।

दरअसल नंदी शब्द, मूल रूप से तमिल शब्द 'नंधु' से आया है, जिसका अर्थ होता है, विकसित होना, फलना-फूलना या प्रकट होना। संस्कृत शब्द नंदी का अर्थ खुश, आनंद और संतुष्टि है, जो शिव के दिव्य संरक्षक नंदी में विद्यमान हैं। भगवान शिव के साथ नंदी की पूजा कई हजारों वर्षों से की जा रही है और इस बात की पुष्टि तब हुई जब सिंधु घाटी मोहनजोदड़ो और हड़प्पा सभ्यता से इस बात के कुछ सबूत मिले। इन सभी सबूतों में स्पष्ट हो रहा था कि नंदी पूजा हजारों सालों से चली आ रही परंपरा है।

जानें मंडी के आराध्य देव कमरुनाग जी और उनकी रहस्यमयी झील का इतिहास

बड़ा देव कमरुनाग जी (अन्य नाम वीर बर्बरीक, श्री खाटू श्याम जी, बबरुभान जी) को हिमाचल प्रदेश के ज़िला मंडी में बारिश के देवता के रूप में जाना जाता है। कमरूनाग जी (Kamrunag ji) का मंदिर एक घने जंगल के बीच में मंडी के कामराह नामक गांव में स्थित है। इस स्थान पर हर साल 14 जून को तीन दिवसीय मेले का आयोजन किया जाता है। पौराणिक परंपरा के अनुसार भक्त अपनी श्रधा भाव से सोने-चांदी इत्यादी के आभूषण, सिक्के एवं पैसे का चढ़ावा एक छोटी सी झील में विसर्जित कर देवता को अर्पित करते हैं।

पौराणिक इतिहास
हिमालय में हर दूसरे मंदिर, शिखर और झील की तरह, इस स्थान की भी एक कहानी है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि भगवान कमरुनाग महाभारत के महान युद्ध में भाग लेना चाहते थे। ये धरती के सबसे शक्तिशाली योधा थे। लेकिन ये भगवान श्री कृष्ण जी की नीति से हार गए थे। इन्होने कहा था कि कोरवों और पांडवों में जिसकी सेना हारने लगेगी वे उसका साथ देंगे। लेकिन भगवान् श्री कृष्ण ये जानते थे कि इस तरह अगर इन्होने कोरवों का साथ दे दिया तो पाण्डव जीत नहीं पायेंगे।

श्री कृष्ण जी ने एक शर्त लगा कर इन्हे हरा दिया और बदले में इनका सिर मांग लिया। लेकिन कमरुनाग जी ने एक ईछा जाहिर की कि वे महाभारत का युद्ध देखेंगे। इसलिए भगवान् कृष्ण ने इनके काटे हुए सिर को हिमालय के एक उंचे शिखर पर पहुंचा दिया। लेकिन जिस तरफ इनका सिर घूमता वह सेना जीत की ओर बढ्ने लगती। तब भगवान कृष्ण जी ने सिर को एक पत्थर से बाँध कर इन्हे पांडवों की तरफ घुमा दिया। इन्हें पानी की दिक्कत न हो इसलिए भीम ने यहाँ अपनी हथेली को गाड कर एक झील बना दी। यह भी कहा जाता है कि इस झील में सोना चांदी चढ़ानें से मन्नत पुरी होती है।

लोग अपने शरीर का कोई भी गहना यहाँ चढ़ा देते हैं। झील पैसों से भरी रहती है, ये सोना-चांदी कभी भी झील से निकाला नहीं जाता क्योंकि ये देवताओं का होता है। ये भी मान्यता है कि ये झील सीधे पाताल लोक तक जाती है। इस में देवताओं का खजाना छिपा है। हर साल जून महीने में 14 और 15 जून को कमरुनाग जी भक्तों को दर्शन देते हैं। झील घने जंगल में है और इन दिनों के बाद यहाँ कोई भी पुजारी नहीं होता। यहाँ बर्फ भी पड जाती है।Romeo Studio Bagsiad

Gurdwara Guru Gobind Singh Ji is situated in the town of Mandi. The Dasvin Patshah came to visit the area on the invitaionof Mandi's ruler Raja Sidh Sen. Guru Gobind Singh stayed here for a little over six months. His tents were set up on the bank of the nearby River Beas, while the Raja's family accomodated the Mata ji's in the Palace.
The Inner place is maintained by the Rulers family. When Guru Sahib was about to leave Mandi, Raja Sidh Sen asked him who would protect Mandi after his departure, who will save us from Aurangzeb's cruelty. The Raja asked his question just as the Guru aimed his banddukh at a clay pitcher floating down the river. The Guru's musket ball pierced the pitcher adding one more hole than its maker, some unknown potter, had given it, but even with that extra hole it continued to float down stream.
The Guru used the still floating pitcher as a metaphor to enforce his answer.
Turning to the Raja, Guru ji remarked:
"Jaise Bachi yeh Handi, Waise Bachegi teri Mandi
Jo mandi ko lutengae, aasmani goley chooteygein."
"As this pitcher was saved, so shall Mandi be saved
If anyone tries to loot it, musket balls will rain from the sky
Some of Guru Ji's belongings are still preserved here; a Bed, a Rabab (musical instrument), a Bandukh (Musket/Gun), a Gun Kuppy (powder horn) and a Talai (Mattress). There's also a rock in the River Beas on which Guru Sahib is known to have often sat in meditation, during his stay in Mandi.
Guru Gobind Singh was known to be an excellent marksman, both with a musket or with a bow. Some of his arrows, which were weighted with an ounce of gold, still exist in collections in Punjab. The ounce of gold was added to afford medicine for any attacker not killed by an arrow shot by the Guru. However, more often than not, the gold served to support of the victim's surviving family members.

हिरण्यकश्यप प्राचीन भारत का एक राजा था जो कि राक्षस की तरह था। वह अपने छोटे भाई की मौत का बदला लेना चाहता था जिसे भगवान विष्णु ने मारा था। इसलिए अपने आप को शक्तिशाली बनाने के लिए उसने सालों तक प्रार्थना की। आखिरकार उसे वरदान मिला। लेकिन इससे हिरण्यकश्यप खुद को भगवान समझने लगा और लोगों से खुद की भगवान की तरह पूजा करने को कहने लगा। इस दुष्ट राजा का एक बेटा था जिसका नाम प्रहलाद था और वह भगवान विष्णु का परम भक्त था। प्रहलाद ने अपने पिता का कहना कभी नहीं माना और वह भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करता रहा। बेटे द्वारा अपनी पूजा ना करने से नाराज उस राजा ने अपने बेटे को मारने का निर्णय किया। उसने अपनी बहन होलिका से कहा कि वो प्रहलाद को गोद में लेकर आग में बैठ जाए क्योंकि होलिका आग में जल नहीं सकती थी। उनकी योजना प्रहलाद को जलाने की थी, लेकिन उनकी योजना सफल नहीं हो सकी क्योंकि प्रहला
