HAND CARVED BEAUTY WITH A ❤️DORJE'S , POKHARA.

Everything should have a story to tell, be it potting a plant, why you chose a destination to travel, a dress you bought or a hotel built.
Then the hotel is not just a building. Possibly every stone at DORJE'S in POKHARA has a story to tell. Built from stones quarried at the site itself the entire hotel is almost hand crafted. During my visit , I was stunned by its architecture and how well it blended atop a hill overlooking the FEWA LAKE. Smooth lines, soft pallettes, very tastefully furnished rooms exuding class.

What set it apart was the horticulture that seemed to have just being a part of the development rather than planting later.
The little RICE FIELD was a surprise when a city girl like me could actually smell the aroma of rice literally.

Modern hotels in cities although starved for space still managed to bring in the outdoors.

PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE..... travel with me to get the ESSENCE of SPIRITUALITY.
Located in the Kathmandu Valley on the Baghmati River, it is the holiest site in Nepal, devoted to the Hindu God Shiva in his form as Pashupati, protector of animals. The temple exists since 400 CE and the site where Lord Shiva disguised as Deer lost one of His antlers.
DURBAR SQURE in KATHMANDU is known as "THE MUSEUM OF TEMPLES" because there are over 50 temples in the square. It was where the city's kings were once crowned and legitimised, and from where they ruled (durbar means palace). As such, the square remains the traditional heart of the old town and Kathmandu.

MANOKAMANA DEVI TEMPLE.....MAY ALL YOUR WISHES COME TRUE.
The temple attracts devotees from all over the world.It is a two-story temple built in the traditional Nepalese pagoda. The architecture is simply stunning.

Manokamana Temple was built in the 17th century during the reign of two Kings of Gorkha, Ram Shah or Prithvipati Shah. The Queen of Gorkha possessed "divine powers" of Manakamana. Now just like India, Nepal too is a land of legends so we recommend you must travel here to listen to some stories from the past.

The cable car rides over the distance of 2.8 kilometres (1.7 mi) in 10 minutes more or less.

BATU CAVES.... KAVADI.... LORD MURUGAN.... THAIPUSSAM
The lofty limestone cave is home to a 43-metre tall golden statue of LORD MURUGAN and the focal point of the world's largest THAIPUSSAM celebration.
Every time I visit the Batu caves, I am simply amazed how strong the community and religious sentiments are even after generations of Tamilian settlers in Malaysia.
I am infact happy to see how strongly they have held onto their roots.
The vivid colours, the architecture, the flowers and sweets stalls all create a visual of celebration. You can't miss the naughty monkeys waiting to grab your food.
The climb to the temple is worth the visit.

A few minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur, you can spend about 3 hrs at the Batu Caves. Don't forget to try the masala dosa and filter coffee at the restaurants there.

MELAKA MORNINGS.....JONKER WALK.....
I spent an entire day in Melaka today and it has a beautiful story.
It was in the 14C that the fishing village of Melaka gained the attention of a Hindu Prince named Parameswara from Sumatra. He was the last ruler of ancient Singapore who was of Malay origin. The ruler decided to make this place a permanent settlement and named it 'Melaka' after a tree.

This charming UNESCO World Heritage city is an easy drive from Kuala Lumpur and rich with history, culture, colonial buildings, ancient landmarks, family-friendly attractions, and yummy local cuisine.

Melaka was the first great maritime Kingdom in the Malay Archipelago. Ruled by the strongest Srivijaya Kingdom in the 15th century, there are records of many Chinese, Arab, and Indian traders lauding Malacca as the most influential port of the Southwest region in ancient times.

Melaka does have history of Portuguese and Dutch invasion. Hence it's architecture and museums are unique.

SENSITIVE TOURISM.... LADAKH REVIEW.
I am extremely sensitive to OVER TOURISM.... Ladakh is one such place that is being battered and no one cares.
Hence, when Nitii called me to say she wanted a holiday to LADAKH, I asked her many questions to understand her interest before just taking a booking.
TOURISM is not about numbers, if we as Travel Consultants don't sensitise the public, then who will?
She and her husband really wanted to explore some off beat destinations and she understood her responsibilities as a Tourist especially in Ladakh.

We scored well in DUBAI. Deepali and her family had booked much ahead and truly benefitted from the offers and prices.
The recent Dubai rains had messed a lot of bookings. Infact our previous guests flights were cancelled but they made it.
When Deepali flew there was no problem and suddenly the rains came again and we had to rearrange all sightseeing but made sure that her family didn't miss anything.
Deepali's younger daughter really enjoyed LEGOLAND.

HOW DID YOUR TRAVEL CONSULTANT/ AGENT HELP YOU DURING THE DUBAI FLOODS???????
Vrushali booked her family on a Dubai vacation 2 months ago and was all prepared to enjoy her time there.
Just on the day the floods engulfed Dubai, her flight was cancelled several times for 2 days.This led to her plans going completely haywire and a lot of anxiety.

From stunning views of some of the world’s highest mountains, magnificent monasteries, an aura of peace, and warm people, Tibet has it all.
Tibet has fascinated travellers from across the world and with good reason.
Our very special trip begins in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, where we visit BANDIPUR and POKHARA

Thereafter, off we proceed to ‘The Roof of the World’.
The Tibetan plateau stands the highest in the world, at an average of 4,500 meters above sea level. We spend some time in Lhasa taking in some of town’s iconic sights like the POTALA Palace (former home of the 14th Dalai Lama before he fled to India), Drepung Monastery, BARKHOR Baazar and more.
