Take Vacations, Go As Many Places As you can,

YOU CAN ALWAYS MAKE MONEY A strong believer in friends….

Born on 8th of October; makes be a Libran but I have never believed in star signs or birth stones. I believe that it’s your upbringing that makes you what you are. I got into organizing events and trips right from my college days. I used to be approached by different college groups to help them organize one day and / or overnight trips. I was always welcomed into the groups that I assisted to orga

nize these fun outings. This made me popular and also helped me make a lot of friends including girls; something what other boys would die for…. From college life moved on to be called as work life. I soon had to earn and arrange for my bread and butter for me and my family; I had to work!!! Work did not take my passion to organize trips away, it only enhanced my ability to better the trips. Trips were happening and this time it was for different teams and departments from within my organization. Not knowing I mastered the art of organizing trips. I would now present my buddies, colleagues, associates, managers and friends with presentations and other print materials that would give them a gist of what can they expect from the trip. This got me into limelight in my company. I have now been approached by many professional adventure companies to assist them organize their trips. Most of these are working on professional level with different websites that boasts about their reach and access. I refuse to take any profit/ service charge from them and soon refused to assist them looking at the money they charge the participants. I strongly believe that trips and tours should be with friends for fun and not for profit. I organize trips to enjoy as a hobby and not for cost. I keep it simple – I am here in this world to make friends and travel with them.

A Summer Escape to the Machan

Tucked away in the heart of nature, my latest visit to the Machan was a refreshing mix of patience, luxury, and breathtaking views. While the official check-in time was 2 PM, they kindly let me in by 1:30. However, adjusting to the room's climate took a while—what started as a sauna transformed into a chilled retreat by 5:30 PM. So, a little patience is key!

I had the chance to experience both Sunset Machan and Forest Machan, each offering a unique flavor of tranquility. Forest Machan, surrounded by dense greenery, was mesmerizing. Words fail to capture the sheer magic of being enveloped by towering trees, with the evening air turning crisp and cool. If you're booking, Jungle Machan 2 is where you'll find the best views! That said, privacy is something to consider, as sounds travel easily across the four-room setup.

On the other hand, the Sunset Machan is ideal for soaking in the golden hues of dusk. With its private setup, a hammock, and even a bathtub on the balcony, it delivered a more secluded and indulgent experience. Both accommodations come with open-to-sky bathrooms and lofts, making it an exciting space for children to have their own little room.

One thing I really appreciate is that they've become senior-citizen friendly—golf carts now ferry guests comfortably from their rooms to common areas like The Burrow (breakfast spot) and The Fireplace (where dinner is served).

The food and service have definitely improved, but I still hope they consider including meals in the tariff and offering free Wi-Fi (even if it’s limited to 2GB) rather than charging ₹500 extra. Given the stay’s premium pricing, a few small enhancements could elevate the overall experience.

Having visited during winter and summer, the only season left to explore is the monsoons. And if the lush greenery was this magical now, I can only imagine how spectacular it must be during the rains!

Elevate Your Lunch
A delightful team lunch at Lake View Café, The Westin, turned into a mini celebration for our close-knit group of five! We relished the lavish buffet spread, featuring global flavors, vibrant salads, and the highlight—creamy mango ice cream paired with refreshing fruity mocktails. The ambiance by the lake added charm, with the cityscape shimmering in the backdrop as we clicked countless pictures. We couldn’t resist posing on the rocks beside the serene indoor waterfall—nature and luxury in perfect sync. A perfect afternoon of food, laughter, and scenic memories!

thankn you for serving us sumptuous meals, your hospitality has never let us down.

Malabar Hill Nature Trail – A Sweaty Stroll, Not a Scenic Escape

Recently, I explored the Malabar Hill Elevated Nature Trail hoping for a refreshing nature walk within the city. I booked the visit online through naturetrail.mcgm.gov.in, expecting shaded paths, serene views, and a peaceful start to the day.

Unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite live up to the promise.

There’s no dedicated parking, which was the first minor inconvenience. As I began the trail, the summer heat kicked in hard. With limited shade and almost no breeze, the walk quickly became more of a sweaty struggle than a relaxing stroll.

The trail features a wooden walkway of about 500 meters, which sounds charming—but I couldn't help but feel that too many trees had been cut down just to build a path beneath a canopy that no longer offers much cover, there weren’t any impressive views or resting spots to make up for it.

In my opinion, this trail may suit locals looking for a quick morning walk, but it’s not worth traveling across the city for—especially in the summer.

If you’re truly looking to unwind in nature, I highly recommend heading to Sanjay Gandhi National Park (Borivali) instead. SGNP offers everything this trail lacks: shaded forest paths, picnic areas, beautiful gardens like the butterfly and cactus gardens, ancient caves, and even lion and tiger safaris. You can walk as much (or as little) as you want, and there’s always something worth stopping for.

So, if you’re planning a nature day out in Mumbai—skip the sweat, skip the stress, and head straight to SGNP.

Celebrating Friendship on Gudipadva
A short meet with friends from work, location opted on purpose Sky City mall as it's new, not completely operational and this allows us to sit, chit-chat. The staff says expect the mall to be functional by Diwali this year.
For lunch we opted for a restaurant nearby - Spring Fields, liked the food and service.

Savoring Farm Fresh Fruits: A Sweet Adventure in Gholvad-Dahanu
Have you ever tasted fruit freshly plucked from the tree? If you have, you'll agree that nothing compares to its flavor—pure and unparalleled.
For me, indulging in "farm-to-table" delights has become a conscious pursuit. This year, I’ve enjoyed from , from Nashik, oranges from Nagpur, and more recently, chiku (sapota) and elichi bananas from the lush farms of Dahanu-Gholvad. With mango season approaching, my plans are already ripening!
Last Saturday, I called a like-minded friend late at night, convincing him to join me on a spontaneous road trip to two farms in the Gholvad-Dahanu area: Save Farms and Mauli Farms. By 7 AM the next day, we were on the road. is just three hours from Mumbai—a convenient drive compared to the rigidity of taking the train. Plus, a car allowed us to carry our bounty of and bananas with ease.

Stop 1: SaveFarm -Tarpa
Our first stop was Save Farms, a well-known chiku haven in the region. This place caters to both overnight stays and day trips; we chose the latter.
The day began with a simple yet hearty breakfast, followed by a farm tour that was nothing short of enlightening. Seated in a tractor-pulled wagon, we explored the vast plantation and learned fascinating facts about different plants and their benefits. From calcium-rich leaves to ones aiding diabetic health and natural mouth fresheners, every discovery was a delight. We were also introduced to their sustainable practices, like water conservation, natural insecticide creation, and soil enrichment.
The tour ended with a series of fun obstacle courses and a thrilling zipline ride across a man-made pond. The experience was engaging yet educational—a perfect blend of leisure and learning.
Afterward, we returned to the reception area, where we indulged in buying farm-made chiku products. Lunch was a simple affair but packed with flavor. While others tried their hand at activities like pottery, we opted to unwind on traditional village beds (khats), soaking in the tranquility.

A Quick Detour:
Post Save Farms, we headed to Bordi Beach, a popular attraction near Dahanu. Unfortunately, high tide had restricted activities, but we still savored a refreshing chiku milkshake from a local vendor before heading to our next destination.

Stop 2: Mauli Farms or Mauli AgroTourism
Our second visit was to Mauli Farms, a relatively new yet promising establishment in Dahanu. While smaller in scale than Save Farms, Mauli impressed us with its thoughtful setup and a range of fruits, particularly their bananas. Sweet and delicious, they were an instant favorite!
The farm also featured swings, a cozy machan for relaxing, and a picturesque property tour. We couldn't resist buying chikus here too—much to the delight of my family, who found them larger and juicier compared to the ones from Save Farms. This might be due to us visiting towards the tail-end of the chiku season.

The Verdict: Save vs. Mauli
Both farms have their unique charm. Save Farms offers a larger, more established experience with its detailed tours and numerous activities. However, the customer service at Mauli Farms stood out—it felt warmer and more personal. Having visited Save Farms before, I noticed their customer approach remains consistent but somewhat impersonal.
If I were to revisit, I’d go to Save Farms for its farm tour and Mauli Farms for a relaxing stay. Each complements the other in its own way.

THE ROAR THAT LET US TO TADOBA

Book your safari before you block your hotels/travel as you may not get a safari slot.

Travel via Train/ Flight to Nagpur

Eat Tarri Poha at Ramji-Shamji before heading to Tadoba

Tadoba is 3.5 hrs from Nagpur, you may want to book your cabs in advance.

4 core gates, many buffer zones.

Moharli Core Zone is the preferred zone for better chances of sighting

Stay options range from home stay to MTDC to expensive hotels, choose as per your budget.

There are other activities like boating, kayaking, bamboo village. A lot of these are arranged by your hotel.

I was lucky to sight 2 tigress in one Safari – Choti Tara & Colarwali, both were in different internal zones of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Safari’s Moharli Gate.

The Roar that Led us to Tadoba

The Selection
When the tigress roared at , it set the stage for our adventure to in district. This trip cost us twice as much, but the sights were well worth it.
My daughter had been clamoring for a , and we debated between , Pench MP, and Tadoba. Tadoba's jungles have gained fame for better tiger sightings, thanks to its reputation as a breeding ground for tigers. After much consideration, we chose Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.
Tadoba Jungles have been in news for better sightings and the reason is that it’s a breeding ground also known as the home ground for tiger. Tigers have their territory, the area where a tiger rules is called the hunting ground and its generally upto 60-70kms. Every 20 -25kms they have a mate; this area of the tigresses is called the home ground. Considering the same we narrowed down on Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.

Double the Cost, Double the Adventure
Our travel date was set for December 5th, coinciding with Mumbai’s CM’s swearing-in ceremony. Predicting heavy traffic and considering my senior mother’s mobility issues, we opted for a taxi. Despite a four-hour buffer, we arrived 15 minutes late, missing our train. Unfortunately, our hotel and safari bookings were non-refundable. Determined to replan, we made new bookings within two months. We were sad for sure but determined that we will replan. It only took us 2 months and we were ready with fresh bookings.

Booking Tips for Tadoba
Book your safari online early, especially for the four core zones, with Moharli being the best. If core zones are full, you might find availability in the buffer zones. Note that cell phones are banned during safaris, but you can bring a camera for a fee. Safaris are closed during monsoon season for animal breeding and nature’s recovery

The Journey to Tadoba
Nagpur is the most convenient entry point, with limited trains stopping at Chandrapur. We arranged a pickup cab from Nagpur station and enjoyed a local breakfast at wale. After a spicy and delightful meal, we embarked on a 3-3.5 hour journey to MTDC – Tadoba.

Accommodation in Tadoba
Tadoba is seeing an increase in resorts, but we chose the economical Maharashtra Tourism Tadoba (MTDC - Tadoba). While the facilities were basic and not well-maintained, the location offered a stunning view of the lake, frequent wildlife sightings from our balcony, and memorable sunsets. We spotted many birds, wild boars, and deer family right from this balcony. Also the sunset that you witness here is mesmerizing.
MTDC Tadoba’s property is huge & with a lot of trees & comes with a swimming pool, but these are not well kept. They provide children play area that most resorts do not even think of. The rooms and are spacious but its bathrooms had a low flow of water.
The restaurant served delicious meals at reasonable prices, though service was slow during peak hours. We relished the food here, butter milk turned out to be our super drink as it helped us beat the heat and was tasty too. We did try their and found that saoji chicken was better at other eateries near Nagpur.

The Safari
Having been on multiple tiger safaris without spotting tigers, I was thrilled to see tigresses on this trip. We saw Choti Tara with her three cubs near a pond and later encountered the fearless tigress Colarwali marking her territory by clawing on trees, she also rubbed her body on trees as she walked deeper not the forest. Witnessing these majestic creatures up close was an unforgettable experience. We returned with our hearts full of memories and souvenirs of our encounters with the regal tigers.

Aero Village Resort: A Hidden Gem of Panheli
This year, I was fortunate enough to check off several must-visit places from my list. Twice, found its way into my travel plans!

Location & Initial Impressions
Nestled in Panheli, off Tala, this resort is surrounded by lush forests, a perennial river, and staff who genuinely care about you. Though they have a website, I preferred contacting them via Whats-app. Speaking directly with someone gave me the confidence that the place was safe for families and couples. The team was courteous and assured me that the resort is senior citizen-friendly.

The Check-in Experience
We decided driving to the resort, you could also fly to this resort – yes, they have a private runway and airport! Upon reaching the resort the unassuming entry door made us skeptical about the property’s size, but as we drove towards the reception, we realized it was vast and breath-taking. The reception area is spacious, with a waiting area equipped with board games like chess, ludo, and snakes & ladders. Snacks and cold drinks are also available to keep you refreshed. The large timber tables and easy-armchairs offer a relaxing spot if you need a break from your road journey.
Rooms are usually allotted around 1 PM, as check-out time for departing guests is 11 AM. The rooms are impeccably kept, with decorations from “The Bombay Store” adding a touch of elegance. While phone network coverage is limited, Jio provides some connectivity, and free internet ensures you stay connected. For clear calls, you might need to step outside or head to the reception area.
Upon check-in, a caretaker is assigned to you. They quickly brief you on the range of activities included in your package and guide you to your first hot meal.

Gastronomic Delights
Meals, like other activities, are included with your stay. After a 4-hour drive, we were eager to head to the restaurant. The buffet was thoughtfully curated, with just enough variety to please everyone without overwhelming choices. From Maharashtrian specials to Chinese cuisine, every dish was lip-smacking. The thoughtful touch of cookies and chocolates near the entrance, with a sign that read "This is for You," made us feel pampered.

Riverside Snacks & Pedicure
At 4 PM, our caretaker Raj checked if we were ready for our riverside visit. Initially hesitant due to the sun, we were reassured that the entire area was shaded by trees. An open jeep took us deeper into the forest, and despite the off-roading, it was safe for seniors. The riverside setup was mesmerizing, with a table placed in calf-deep water. We enjoyed snacks and cold drinks while little fishes gave us a free pedicure – a unique and delightful experience!

Hi-Tea at the Lawns
After returning, we were treated to hi-tea at the lawns. With the as our backdrop, we indulged in bhel puri, sev puri, sandwiches, and vada-pav. The happy faces around us testified to the delightful experience.

ATV Rides
Post hi-tea, we zoomed around the property on , experiencing the thrill of speed. We recorded our slow-motions videos here. The ATV driver dropped us at another lawn just opposite reception steps.

Golfing around
Here, we headed for lessons, the challenge was to pot a hole in 3 strikes and I managed to pot a hole in just two strikes and celebrated!

Outdoor Activities & More
Exploring further, we found a play area with archery, net cricket, table tennis, and a giant . Four adults turned into gleeful kids, bouncing around and laughing. But the surprises didn’t end there.

Exclusive Movie Screening
We were then treated to an exclusive movie screening at the in-resort theater. Watching a film with the entire to ourselves was a special experience. Ready to call it a day as it had been pretty eventful, but there was more.

Night Safari
The day culminated with a thrilling . In pitch darkness, the lights were turned off, allowing us to fully immerse in the sounds of the forest and the starry sky. It was both exciting and slightly frightening.

Wrapping Up
After another sumptuous meal, we were ready to call it a day.

The next morning, a short plunge pool session and a warm bath marked the end of our stay.
Aero village Resort provided a fun, packed, and memorable experience – one that I relived while penning down this blog. And no, this isn’t a paid promotion; it’s simply a testament to a genuinely enjoyable day!

Manali : A Whimsical Workcation

The Inception of Plan
Organizing work-from-home setups in scenic locales close to Mumbai has been my latest venture. Recently, one of my teammates suggested we take this concept to a whole new level and work remotely from . The idea instantly excited me, and since I've traveled to Manali multiple times in different styles, planning the trip was a breeze. The real challenge lay in finalizing the group. One friend overcame all odds to join us, while the original idea's mastermind had to stay behind due to family health issues.

The Travel
Keeping the trip economical, we booked the from Mumbai to Delhi, arriving at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station around 10:15 AM. To our pleasant surprise, our train pilot got us there 20 minutes early. We secured a retiring room at the station, costing a mere ₹190 per bed, to freshen up before boarding our bus to Manali, which would also cover local sightseeing.
The bus ride was convenient, eliminating the hassle of managing luggage, arranging taxis, and planning halts. Our first stop was , known for its massive serving delicious food. Despite the long breaks extending our travel time, we enjoyed every bit of it.
Our first adventure struck at 2:00 AM. On a steep curve, the bus swerved, and "BAM"—two windows with their frames fell off, making the chilly night even colder as we neared Manali. A quick stop at a petrol station allowed us to rig a blanket over the gaping hole, which helped a bit. After an hour's drive, we reached our hotel. By the next day, the window was repaired, and we faced no further issues.

The Stay
Marina Heights Manali : Stunning Views
Due to some last-minute changes, we booked our first night at . The narrow access road made parking a bus nearly impossible, so we parked 150-200 meters away. Arriving at 3 AM, we opted to freshen up and sleep. The non-centrally heated rooms required additional heaters.
The morning greeted us with a stunning view of the mountains and apple orchards, like something out of a fairy tale. After snapping a few photos, we headed to the in-house restaurant for a delectable breakfast. Two highlights: the staff's courteous service and the freshly prepared, piping hot food. Instead of a buffet, they served us individually, making the meal even more enjoyable.
After breakfast, we checked into our next hotel, a four-star establishment, with high expectations.
Stay tuned for more adventures from our work-from-home escapade in Manali!

Sterling Holidays Manali: A Memorable Stay
Having traveled across many states in India, I've often chosen the for accommodation at tourist spots. They have properties in almost every state, and I’ve generally been delighted with my stays. However, there was one exception, but that's a tale for another time. Our experience at Sterling Manali was wonderful, starting with warm and helpful faces always ready to greet and assist us. The staff made sure our rooms were on the same floor and close to each other, which is essential for larger groups. Though our check-in time was scheduled for 2 PM, we were graciously given our rooms by 11:30 AM. The entire hotel, including our well-designed and well-lit rooms, was centrally heated.
Our plan included breakfast and dinner, both served as lavish buffets featuring soups, starters, main courses, and desserts. The only thing missing was a refreshing drink like fresh lime soda or water after meals. On weekends, they arranged a campfire with a tea/coffee counter, which was an additional Rs. 50, a minor charge that could have been included in the package. While celebrating a friend's anniversary and birthday, we were a bit disappointed that we had to pay for the cakes, unlike many hotels that provide them complimentary. Despite these minor issues, we were happy with our stay at Sterling Manali and hope they continue to enhance their services. They also offered a spa (at an extra cost) and a mix of free and paid indoor games for our enjoyment.

Manali Sightseeing Adventures
Our sightseeing began with a visit to and Temple. After offering our prayers, we enjoyed the climate and scenic beauty surrounded by pine trees. Local vendors offered photo opportunities with rabbits & Yak and dressing us in traditional attire, making for a fun start to our day. We then tried the local dish, , and ended up devouring six of them! Another favorite was Laphing.
Next, we visited . Since our bus couldn't navigate the narrow lanes, some friends took an auto-rickshaw while others, including myself, opted to walk the steep incline. The descent revealed a delightful bakery, The Sisters Café, where we indulged in three different cakes, especially the Tiramisu, which we ordered multiple times. Nearby, we found a unique fruit called , known locally as , which we all enjoyed.
As night approached, we ventured to the , Manali's bustling hub. Although shop vendors were a bit rude due to the high footfall, we had a great time exploring. Do try the hot milk served in glasses during winters—it’s a must! Sadly, our experience with Siddhu here was disappointing compared to earlier.
Rohtang Pass was next on our itinerary. We crossed the , but snowfall and rough weather conditions meant only four-wheel-drive vehicles were allowed beyond a certain point. Though we couldn't reach the pass, we enjoyed the views from where we were halted. On our way back, we indulged in a hot air balloon adventure, which was worth every paise. These balloons are stationary due to government regulations but still offered an incredible experience.
Other must-visit spots include for adventure sports and Vashisht hot water springs—unless you're heading to and Baba in Kasol. and nature parks are also popular with tourists.
Pro tip: While Instagram provides plenty of travel inspiration, do your research before adding spots to your itinerary. Also, from mid-December to late February, expect snowfall near hotels and the Mall Road, with only four-wheel-drive vehicles permitted in Manali. Other vehicles are halted near Kullu, which is 1.5 to 2 hours away, and renting a four-wheel-drive vehicle can cost between ₹25,000 to ₹35,000.

I will to Manali, my itinerary may be a little different but I guarantee Manali will always be memorable.
