The Third and final stop- The Cloud Hill.
We have letters and notes in the personal dairy that belonged to Major Edmund Swettenham that have mentioned this hill top. This is the hill that is visible from the villages around this area. Edmund named Cloud End in memory of this hill top as it reminded him of his home town and his village when he started living in Mussoorie. It is a beautiful hike that leads up to this hill top with a 360 degree view of the entire valley. It is a lot like the view you get of the entire valley when you are up in Cloud End. It was so beautiful and felt amazing to be up here. From Cloud End to Cloud Hill.

Exploring the ground roots of the “THE SWETTENHAM FAMILY” I headed out to explore about “The Swettenham family” It is a pleasure to be in touch with family members that belong to this family. The word “Swettenham” has always meant a lot for all of us that have connections with CLOUD END. So I decided to collect some basic information from this book, to go and visit the Midlands in England. I wanted to see where this family belonged from and what connection the area had with Mussoorie that it made Edmund Swettenham and six generations of his family live in Mussoorie.

“The Cloud End House” Built in 1838, here are pictures of the house since the 70’s to the 2000’s .There have been a few changes around the house, but the main house has been standing strong for over 180 years. I feel proud to be apart of this house, it belongs to my family since 1965.
