Aranghata

Aranghata Aranghata (Bengali: আড়ংঘাটা) Aranghata (Bengali: আড়ংঘাটা) is a town in the district of Nadia, West Bengal, India.

It is situated 78 km (48 mi) north of Calcutta and about 9 km (5.6 mi) north of Ranaghat. Aranghata is served by the Ranaghat Junction Railway Station a major station on the Sealdah-Gede railway section.Aranghata is famous for its Jugol Kishore Mela on the bank of the Churni.This is a very old locality. It is known that long back when maharaja Krishnachandra was passing throug the churni river in

his own bajra (decorated big boat) hearing sound of a ringing bail sent his men to enquire the source and came to know that an old brahmin is worshiping the god krishna. Maharaj Krishnachandra made a mandir in that place, the Jugol Kishor Temple....heaven is placed beside churni river... !
