Architecture STUDY Tour

We recently hosted an architecture study tour for the students of Rachna Sansad - AOA, Mumbai in Narkanda and as always we have lovely memories to share.
The budding designers explored the settlements of Kotgarh and Narkanda in groups of two where WHGC had an opportunity to share the local knowledge of unexplored areas rich in architectural heritage and history.
We are thrilled to having been a part of this amazing compilation where the students along with their enthusiastic faculties could make notes of cultural influences observed in the building practices of old and modern designs.
Looking forward to more such collaborations in the future.

We recently hosted an architecture study tour for the students of Rachna Sansad - AOA, Mumbai in Narkanda and as always we have lovely memories to share.
We planned the itinerary to incorporate study and documentation, exploration, village walks, cultural exchange with the locals and YES, loads of fun as we went along the local trails of Narkanda and Kotgarh.
The students moved around the village, transitioning between old and new structures, the settlement pattern, relationship between houses, farms, trails, streams and terrain.
All and all a great match between their enthusiasm to document and explore and our local knowledge and experience of the settlement and understanding the needs of this dynamic group.
Another milestone for WHGC, hoping for many more to come.

Kinnaura District Kinnaur, from our camp we always see the snow covered Baspa ranges. Baspa range which make a wall between Kinnaur and Shimla geographically but after this wall we share culture, emotions, and the brotherhood from centuries. Kinnaur have many rivers and streams, Satluj is the main and Baspa and spiti are the other fast flowing rivers. Side valleys like Baspa and the Bhabha are the Gods created places. Blue sheep on the way of Kibber. In our 3rd batch of Winter Spiti Expedition 2.0 we saw the Snow Leopard in his habitat. We were going towards the kibber village and when we crossed a sharp turn on road there were many Wild life photographers capturing the pictures of Grey Ghost. We meet a photographer there he was from Kaza and very kind showed us Snow Leopard. We don't have photographs to share, but the experience and the moment was memorable.
