Today is a sad day.

Thomas Cook, the founder of package holidays, is no more. Dating back to 1841, Thomas Cook has been a prominent part of the tourism industry.

Have you ever been on a Thomas Cook holiday or flown with Thomas Cook Airlines? I bet you have.

The reality is, however, that this was always going to happen. With the growth of the Internet and the many travel apps available to us now we don’t need the ‘experts’ to book our travel for us. We can, and many would rather, do it ourselves.

I feel sorry for anybody who has had their travel plans disrupted and I feel even more so for those that have lost their jobs. I considered becoming a Travel Agent when I was younger. It could have been me that lost my job today. I’m so sorry for anybody who will struggle to pay their bills or put food on the table as a result of Thomas Cook’s collapse today. I can’t begin to imagine how hard this must be.

It sounds like ABTA are doing their job well and repatriating everyone efficiently. I wrote about this recently, if you’re interested in learning more about how ABTA work search ABTA on my website.

Goodbye Thomas Cook. All good things must come to an end, the world of travel have moved on and so must you.

Now a days indians are getting deported from Thai because of carrying 2 to 3 types of currencies..
Please don't bring 2 3 types of currency with you just dollars or baht in front of my friend, they said no to 2 3 people just because of it and they deported back. So take care of this.
