One Gypsy, One Tiger, One hour of uninterrupted photoshoot

Jhirna, 28 Nov we decided to take the unconventional route and started our safari with Paar area instead of High Bank or Tower area

Our decision paid off and just 15 minutes into the morning safari, We found this beautiful Tigress sitting on a branch.

Posted • The Kathpulia tigress, fondly known as Charro, has been the longest reining queen of the Jhirna zone in Jim Corbett, India. Her grace, grandiosity and power have always ignited a sense of curiosity, and I have spent over 70 safaris tracking and photographing her. During the past few years, it was known that Charro could not deliver a litter. However, recent chatter suggested that Charro had not only given birth but was also extremely possessive of her litter.
This summer, after 26 relentless safaris, I could finally spot the new mother with her babies. I was enthralled by this sight and delighted to capture this image. As I look back at this unforgettable moment, I see Charro’s cubs as something familiar yet fresh and am left with a sense of wonderment about the future of Jhirna. I am excited to see the new heirs to Charro’s kingdom grow up to be the reflections of a familiar specimen with a fresher curiosity.

A very special thank you to my brother , who’s been with me through everything and has always supported my work even when I didn’t feel it was upto the mark.

I was on my last safari leaving Dhikala under unpleasant circumstances, however fate had other plans, n not unpleasant ones. 😉
