*IHRO celebrates International Women's Day in Srinagar*
*_felicitates women for their work Excellence in their respective fields_*
Srinagar, Mar 08: World's Popular humanitarian voluntary organisation, International Human Rights Organization (IHRO) celebrated International Women's Day with great enthusiasm and zeal today here in Tagore Hall Srinagar.
Women's day celebration and the felicitation ceremony held by IHRO in Srinagar was the maiden mega public event of the organisation for which National Headquarters core team extended full support to its J&K state body. The function received an overwhelming response from the audience who lauded the aims and objectives of International Human Rights Organization.
The programme started with a formal welcome address by the World Chairman of IHRO Shri Dr. Nem Singh Premi who besides extending cordial welcome to all the dignitaries, guests and other participants also gave basic intro of the IHRO.
Secretary General IHRO, Shri Alok Singh highlighted the overall aims and objectives of IHRO. He elaborated various aspects and streams under which IHRO is working in bringing positive transformation in the society. Be it women empowerment, youth development, sports, career, tourism or agriculture, IHRO through it's diversified plans and ex*****on enables people grow and prosper.
Shri NK Goyal and Captain Rama Arya from National Headquarter had also come all the way from Delhi to grace the occasion and their kind presence acted as a great source of motivation.
Among the awardees who were felicitated with mementos and certificates for their remarkable social services and women empowerment initiatives were the Raja Nikhat Aman SSP Security Civil Secretariat Srinagar, Administrative Officer Dr Deeba Khalid-JKAS, renowned social activist Ms Nikhat Shafi Pandit, prominent Gynaecologist Dr. Shahida Mir, Dr Mehjabeen, Chairperson Care Foundation, Journalist Humaira Nabi, Blood Woman of Kashmir Bilkees Ara, Dr. Mubeena Ramzan, Social activist, Ms Halima Shabir, Arjuna awardee Athelete Sheetal Devi, Socio-political activist Sunita Arora, Architect Irchitect Nowshehri, Dr. Mantasha, Adv Amtul Basit, Fatima Hamid, Ms Atiya and others.
IHRO J&K team officials including Zonal Coordinator Bhat Altaf, Director Arshad Yousuf, President Nazir Ahmad Wani, Ms Sabrina also spoke on the occasion and expressed their will and intend to strengthen the roots of IHRO in J&K as to facilitate people with all possible help and support.
Ms Roomi Nazir, outstanding youth activist and IHRO's Vice President for Youth Affairs and sports brilliantly performed her duty as the stage Secretary and anchor of the programme.
Bollywood sensation and star celebrity Warina Hussain also graced the occasion as special celebrity Guest and wished everyone Happy International Women's Day. She was also felicitated with a memento from IHRO.
The 2nd part of the programme i, e, the mega walkathon is scheduled to be organized tomorrow (Saturday) morning on the bank of Dal Lake.
Maverick organisation, grand event management team led by Asif Iqbal and his efficient team is the main component and back bone of the organising committee working in collaboration with IHRO to spread the message of peace and Zero crime and violence against women.
