Mahadev temple at Tambdi Surla, commonly known as Tambdi Surla temple by the locals, was built in the 13th century by Kadamba Dynasty that is located inside Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park.
It is a basalt rock temple carved from a single rock and one of its kind in Goa. It is still very well preserved and has survived Islamic invasion & Portuguese inquisition due to its remote location deep inside the forest at the foothills of Western ghats.
This picturesque and serene temple with the western ghats at the backdrop and water stream flowing just infront of it, makes it one of the must visit places in Goa.
