Not only it is Goa and its sightseeing’s that you could see while you

staying in the north Goa near Panjim. If you are interested in real ancient and modern live of Indian people you undoubtfully should visit Malvan in Marashashtra state. Malvan, located on the Konkan coast , 100 km from Goa and wrapped by the Sahyadri ranges is one of the Marashashtra state’s most historical tourist attractions. Old Malvan was once an inner island and is now part of the mainland. This place has two old and impressive forts - Sindhudurg and Padmagad. An erstwhile trading center, Malvan is now famous for its saltpans, Chinese clay pottery, palms and its seafood-based cuisine.

1-DAY TOUR
On our way to Malvan let us have peaceful and relaxing breakfast on Dhamapur lake- one well-known for its clean crystal-clear waters. Spreading on over forty acres it is ideal for excursions and water sports. The next point of our trip will be the great fort Sindhidurg, which was built by Hindu king Shivaji on the small island about 1000 metres from the shore and was the main bastion of Maratha Empire, one of the greatest Hindu Empires of non-colonial period of Indian history. The building, finished in 1664 lasted only three years. 500 bricklayers, 200 blacksmith, 3000 workers and hundreds of engineers took part in its building. The perimeter of its outer walls is about 3 kilometres, the average wall-height is 10 meters their wide is 3,5 – 4 meters. Such high and thick walls was built to secure the shore from the attacks from the sea and also to protect the fort from the sea itself. As a result, the fort was captured only once by the British in 1765 AD and only to give it back soon. Later in 1818 AD, after the British conquest the Marashashtra they dismantled the fort’s defence structures. On a rocky island between Sindhudurg and the coast stood the small fort of Padmagad, now in ruins. It acted as a screen for Sindhudurg and was also used for ship-building. Snorkelling and scuba diving are available in Malvan and Tarkarli for those who like adventures. Be sure to prepare to see outstanding coral reef where such fish as Spotted Rabit and Zebra fish could be seen. The experienced team will prepare and teach you to have one of the greatest experiences of your life. Watch the aqua world closely. Meet Red Tapers and make the acquaintance with Angel Fish and Sea Cucumber. One of the specific but highly interesting attractions of Malvan is its fish-market situated on the shore. Hundreds of people come there at the evening, when fisherman’s boats come from the days work. There is no counters or stalls and boxes with fresh fish are put directly on the sand. Days in winter are short so market mostly works in candle or betti-lamp light. You could choose the fish you like and for small additional payment it will be prepared for you in the restraunt. Well it is time to have lunch now so let us enjoy it on Tarkali - one of the most popular beaches of the state. The pure coast with emerald green sea water, talcum dust sand, the whitest waves and sapphire sky with yarn candy clouds make it a heaven on Earth. You could see the depth of the water up to 15 feet with your bare eyes.
5 kms away from Tarkali is another tourist destination - stunning white sand beach called Devbag. Long beautiful beach, fishermans community and pine trees are major attractions. The place where Karli river meets the sea is also absolutely stunning.

2-DAYS TOUR
For those who are really keen on adventures and want to see much more we offer even more exciting addition to our 1-Day Tour. Terekhol Fort situated on the northern bank of the Terekhol river was built by the Raja of Sawanwadi. It was captured by the Portuguese viceroy, Dom Pedro de Alameida in 1746. The church and the fort were rebuilt then. In 1825 it served as the base for armed revolt by the first Goan born Viceroy of Goa, Dr. Bernardo Peres da Silva against the Portuguese forces. Customarily marked by turrets and a surrounded by a ditch it overlooks the panoptic ocean. In the middle of the fort is the church with a Goan fasade. The fort presently houses a tourist hotel. The tranquility of the place is accentuated by the confluence of the serene sea and the river. Do you remember the abandoned city from Mowgli? The hidden mysterious Fort Reddi is so absorbed by the jungles that you could hardly find it. The very big and breathtaking place has a good safety and several levels of defense walls wholly seized by plants. It is thought to be built by Shivaji in about the same time when fort of Sindhudurg at Malvan was built. But it is probable that Shivaji only repaired a fort previously held by the Savants for the Bijapur kings. In 1817, when it was in the hands of the Savant Chiefs, the fort was besieged by the Portuguese who planted their guns on Hasta Dongar Hill, and though too far off to do it much harm, the marks of the battering still remain on the south walls of the citadel palace. Failing to take the fort they are said to have cut down the neighbouring palm groves and decamped. In 1819, in accordance with an agreement made some years before (1812), with Phond Savant, the English came to Reddi to take the fort from Sambhaji Savant. Their batteries opened on February 13th, and in the evening of the same day the outworks were carried by assault, and next morning the fort surrendered. The marks of the English cannon balls are still visible on the north end of the west side of the palace. So come and wander under its beautiful arches and see mysterious wells and dungeons. Then rise on the top of the fort and overview outstanding Paradise Beach with its white sands. MALVAN TOUR ITINERARIES
