Yuksom! Oh you’ll fall in love with every little thing of this place. Being the first capital of Sikkim, it has a lovely collection of historic monuments, monasteries, lakes, coronation site.

The name Yuksom literally means ‘the meeting point of the three lamas’. According to the locals, this is where the three Tibetan monks met and crowned the first king of Sikkim in 1641. The coronation site is said to be at Norbugang where you can still see the coronation throne.

You ll see every house decorated with colourful flowers here, they’ll have their own small well managed kitchen gardens, roads have flags, and all this at the height of 5,800 ft with the background of varying shades of Himalayas, its just magical✨
