Rishikesh: The City of the Yoga
Rishikesh is a small town of Uttarakhand state, located in the foothills of Shivalik hills of the Himalayas in north India, also known as the Gateway of Garhwal Region of Uttarakhand & Yoga Capital of the World. It is 25 km far from the holy city Haridwar and 43 km from the capital of Uttarakhand Dehradun. Rishikesh is also known as Hrishikesh, Rushikesh or Hrushikesh in the Hindu methodology. Every year thousands of Hindu sages and saints visited Rishikesh since ancient times. The government of India announced that Rishikesh and Haridwar will be the “twin national heritage cities” Every year this city host the annual International Yoga Festival.
