The travelling Shepherd trek is one of the most beautiful trek in Kinnaur Himachal.This trek has been used for ages and now also is used by the local Shepherds to cross inner ranges to reach areas of Rohru in shimla district from Kinnaur valley. The trek route begins from the hill village Sapni of kinnaur.The path is through Irish meadows of Vashira, ascending to Simangra, Chilchkua, Bulcho, Buran ghati and then further to the "Chandernahan" lake. The last station of the trek is towards isolated village Janglik in Rohru. The trek is one of the most alluring and scenic trek in the region that engrosses the traveller's mind.
The trek is enriched by several Alpine woodlands and meadows,sights of rare Himalayan animals and birds and colourful orchards and gushing streams, filled with adventure and cultural grandeur. The journey becomes more scenic when coming in contact to the white spectrum of the Himalayan range, and the most spectacular views of the Sangla in the right and the Kalpa valley in the left side and in the front the enormous scenic view of the Kinnaur Kailash from Vashira. Feasting your eyes on the astounding scenic vistas, be prepared to negotiate your way through snow - bound glacier, slippery slope and rocky trails. Owing to its Tough gradient, the trek demands a high level of physical and mental fitness.
