How to Reach

We are just 5 kms away from Maneybhanjan and can be reached from Siliguri (NJP or IXB Airport) by a shared or hired cab. The fare for shared car from Siliguri to Sukhia Pokhri is rs 250 and Rs. 70 from Sukhia Pokhri (starts at 1pm) to Aranya Baas, Majuwa. The hired car will cost approx rs 4500.

Explore the uncharted territories of Majuwa forest, waterfalls and a variety of flora & fauna during the day time. Night safari can be arranged by obtaining permission & clearance from the Forest Department.
Red Panda, Leopard Cat, Barking Deer Wild Boar, Pangolin, Himalayan Black Bear, Leopard, Clouded Leopard can be spotted in the territory.
This is a Heaven for Bird Watchers and to name a few -- Parrobills, blood pheasant, satyr tragopan, kalij pheasant can be seen.

দাওয়াইপানি, দার্জিলিং এর কাছে হিমালয়ের কোলে ছোট্ট একটা পাহাড়ি গ্রাম। দার্জিলিং ঢোকার কিছুটা আগেই জোরবাংলো, সেখান থেকে মাত্র 11 কিঃমিঃ দূরে এই দাওয়াইপানিতে আমাদের হোমস্টে, রত্নদীপ হোমস্টে ।
4 টি ঘর নিয়ে আমাদের এই ছোট্ট হোমস্টে. সকালের চায়ের কাপ হাতে, ঘরে বসেই কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা দেখার সুযোগ চাইলে চলে আসুন রত্নদীপ হোমস্টে তে.

এলাকাটি সিঞ্চল ওয়াইল্ড লাইফ স্যাংচুয়ারির মধ্যে পড়ে। নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি থেকে দূরত্ব প্রায় 80 কিলোমিটার মতো।

স্থানীয় লোকেরা বলে এখানকার জল খুব ভালো, অনেক অসুখ সারিয়ে তোলে,তাই এই নামকরণ। প্রচলিত আছে এক ব্রিটিশ সেনা কর্মকর্তার পায়ে একটি ক্ষত নাকি কিছুতেই সারছিল না, একদিন এক পাহাড়ি নদী পায়ে হেঁটে পার করার পর থেকে তার সেই ক্ষত সেরে উঠতে শুরু করে. তিনি পরে সেই জল ল্যাবেও পাঠান এবং দেখা যায় সেই জলে প্রচুর পরিমাণে খনিজ পদার্থ আছে, যা শরীর এর জন্যে ভালো.

অসাধারণ প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য্যে পরিপূর্ণ এই গ্রামের মানুষজনও খুব ভালো। চারিদিক নির্জনতায় ভরা,এই দাওয়াইপানি গ্রামের যেকোনো জায়গা থেকেই দেখা যায় দার্জিলিং শহর, আর বরফে ঢাকা কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা। সুবিশাল পাইনের বন থেকে ভেসে আসে নানা পাখির কূজন। মেঘ-কুয়াশায় ঢাকা এমন একটি জায়গায় একবার এলে নিশ্চিন্তে দু-তিন দিন কাটিয়ে আবার তরতাজা হয়ে ফিরে যেতে পারেন। তবে এখানে তথাকথিত সাইটসিইং বলে কিছু নেই । শুধু আছে প্রকৃতি আর নির্জনতা। শহরের ব্যস্ত জীবন থেকে একটু অবসর নিয়ে একটা শান্ত পরিবেশে পাখির কলতানে নিজেকে সামিল করতে পারবেন আর প্রাণভরে উপভোগ করতে পারবেন কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘাকে ।

দাওয়াইপানি চারপাশে অনেক চা বাগান রয়েছে যেমন, গ্লেনবার্ন, তাকদা, লামহাটা চা বাগান.

এখান থেকে দার্জিলিং, চটকপুর, তাকদা, লামহাটা, সিটং খুব কাছাকছি।তাই চাইলেই এর মধ্যে যে কোন জায়গায় অল্প সময়ে পৌঁছে যাতে পারেন. এখান থেকে সিকিমের দূরত্বও খুব বেশি নয়.

একবার এসে ঘুরে যান এই দাওয়াইপানি, আমরা আছি, নিজেকে দুটো একান্ত ভালোলাগার দিন উপহার দিন.

সান্দাকফু এখন বন্ধ কিন্তু অরণ্য বাস এ এলে এখান থেকে ঘুরে নিতে পারেন 🇳🇵 নেপাল এর কন্যাম, শ্রী অন্তু।
সকাল সকাল প্রাতরাস সেরে বেরিয়ে পড়ুন আর সারাদিন কন্যাম, শ্রী অন্তু ঘুরে সন্ধ্যায় ফিরে আসুন অরণ্য বাস এ।

সন্ধ্যায় চা/কফির সাথে পকোড়া, রাতের খাবার তাড়াতাড়ি সেরে শুয়ে পড়ুন আর পরদিন সকালে বেরিয়ে পড়ুন টুমলিং এর উদ্দেশ্যে।

পাহাড়ি নদীর ধারে নিরিবিলি তে দিন কয়েক কাটাতে চান, চলে আসুন অরণ্য বাস এ. এ সত্যই অরণ্য বাস, চারপাশে উঁচু উঁচু গাছের সমারোহ, চারদিক পাহাড়ে ঘেরা, যেনো অজানা কোনো জায়গা.

বর্ষায় পাহাড়ে কিছু অসুবিধা নিশ্চয়ই হয় কিন্তু সেটা কিছুটা উপেক্ষা করে যদি দিন কয়েক কাটানো যায়, পাহাড়ের যে রূপ দেখতে পাবেন তা মনে রাখার মতো. বর্ষায় পাহাড় এক অনন্য রূপ পায়, চারপাশে সবুজের সমারোহ, ভরা পাহাড়ি নদী, প্রায় নিস্তব্ধ জীবন.

অরণ্য বাস এ এবং চারপাশের জঙ্গলে প্রচুর পাখির আনাগোনা, কান পেতে যদি শোনেন, দেখবেন ভুলে যাওয়া, না জানা কতো রকম পাখির ডাক, সাথে অবিরাম পাহাড়ি নদীর গর্জন.

অরণ্য বাস, মানেভঞ্জন থেকে 5 কিলোমিটার দূরে, মাজুয়া বস্তি তে অবস্থিত. শিলিগুড়ি থেকে শেয়ার গাড়ি তে পৌঁছে যেতে পারেন সুখিয়া পোখরি বা মানেভঞ্জন, সুখিয়া পোখরি থেকে শেয়ার গাড়ি পাওয়া যায় অরণ্য বাস এর জন্য বা মানেভঞ্জন থেকে 5 কিলোমিটার রাস্তা গাড়ি ভাড়ার ও ব্যবস্থা আছে.

দুর্গা পুজোর সময় যদি সান্দাকফু বা টুমলিং এ ঘর না পান তবে চলে আসতে পারেন অরণ্য বাস এ, এখান থেকে
সান্দাকফু ঘোরার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়.

আশেপাশে টুমলিং, ধোতরে, রিমবিক, শ্রিখোলা ঘুরে আসতে পারেন.
